I have also had a bit of an issue with hair loss. My doctor recommend biotin in pill form. I also found that nexxus makes a biotin enriched shampoo, gel, hair spray and scalp cream. I started using that about a month ago and it seams to be really working.

Not sure the date of your post, I am just seeing it today..6-28. Thanks for the info.
It seems my hair is ok right now. A few in my support group, a few are on biotin.
A friend uses Hair Regrowth Treatment...from Rite Aid.. (not Walgreens-not as good.)
She didn't have WLS, but thinning hair. Another WLS friend uses the shampoo you are using. When the time comes, I will have some options.
So, are you in Pennsy?

Well, I'm in the Philly area, but since there is no MD post (I'm half an hour from Gettysburg), this is as close as I can get! I did go to college at Immaculata University and have family in Philly and Norristown...and I do go up a lot too.

Hi all,
I'm from Philly and having my surgery at Penn with Dr. Schuricht [who as made me feel so at ease about everything]. I'm 25 and have been 250+ since I was 13. I hear it's like jumping into a cold river. But I'm mentally ready and that's all that matters. Unfortunately, my paperwork was sbmitted to Keystone Mercy for approval on the 16th of December. Its the 30th and I haven't heard back yet. I have been such a grinch this holiday season because of this. Any tips anyone has moving forward would be great. I've started the 1000 cal diet just in case; Penn doesn't require 100% liquid pre-op. I'm nervous but excited.

A little follow up, I got approved today [January 3] and have a surgery date of January 23. I'm so excited to finally be post op. The build up is killing me. Any advice other RNY-ers have??
