Default so upset !

I have been waiting 7 months for my surgery. I have done what ever was asked of me . I went to all support meeting. Had my psychological evaluation. Had my pulmonary evaluation. Had every test from chest exray blood gases test sonogram of gallbladder corotied artery breathing test ekg eeg . Went to cardiologist and he was so very mean. He told me I was supposed to have a stress test before I went to his office but nobody told me that ! He said I was waisting his time and now he said I have to wait another month to get his clearance. When I left his office I was sobbing and very ready to give up !!!

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Awww, I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience but definitely don't give up because of one a**hole. I had an unexpected six month hold up because of my stress test that turned out literally saved my life. I was upset too, but it was worth the wait. I'm sorry your doctor made it worse by being a creep!

Don't give up. It is just another hoop to jump threw. Hang in there and do whatever it takes. You won't regret it. Can you use another doctor or do you have to go back to that not so nice doctor? I didnt say what I really wanted to say. lol
Good luck and keep your head up. It will happen and you will be so glad it did.

I worked in Marketing for a large hospital for 8 yrs, which included marketing the individual doctors, and so I feel I can say this:

Make an appt. with another cardiologist now so that you can get in soon with him/her and then go get your stress test done. There's no reason you should put up with crappy bedside manner from a doctor; I'd hate to see you go back to that guy, requirements done, and have to deal with more walls.

I'm not familiar with your area of PA, but there is hopefully more than one cardiologist in the area. I would even be willing to drive an hour to see another one, after what you put up with. If needed, go back to your surgeon and get referred to another one - sometimes you can get in faster that way.

Hang in there and good luck!

Whatever you do, do NOT give up! I could write a book about weight loss surgery setbacks! That cardiologist sounds like a real tool! Call your bariatric surgeon's office and see if they will accept a different one. Then get a new appointment. I have had to jump through so many hoops I was beginning to feel like a trick pony at a circus. The one thing I learned is that this is a lengthy procedure, and by no means an easy row to hoe. BUT, just keep at it, and speak up when you have to. No one else is going to do the footwork for you. This is YOUR life, and you have every right to expect quality treatment. As a wise man recently told me.."The squeaky wheel gets the most grease!" I learned to squeak...loudly and as often as necessary!!! I was even denied by my insurance company about a month ago, and I felt just like you do now. But the great people here supported me, and the next day I was back at it. Now my surgery date is right around the corner! Yours will happen too!

NEVER give up.
Sorry you had to get that kind of treatment. For one thing, if the cardiologist is working through a hospital, you should be able to lodge a complaint against those crappy manners. Finding another cardiologist is an option as well.

I’m sorry you had a bad experience Shorty. If you are anything like me, and I bet most of the members who haven’t had surgery yet, you want it YESTERDAY. But don’t give up. Give yourself time to feel angry, frustrated, sad or whatever and get right back at it. Make an appointment for your stress test and then see what can be done about re-visiting the cardiologist.

Sending you hugs with love and wishing you all the best!

you are going to have several bumps, and BOY it is a moral let down. I remember wanting to give up. It took me almost a year and half to get the okay. It will happen, dont stop, keep going.

Yep, screw him and find another cardiologist. Mine did not want a stress test. So, it is individual. There are many more to pick from, one of them will be thrilled to be your doctor. I was going to suggest you talk to Country Strong. She could write a book on
how to get approved, but I see she posted already.
Good look; stay strong. Fight for it!
