Question I've been thinking again...

DONT ROLL YOUR EYES AT ME!!!

at what point is it "ok" to move on? I mean, WLS will ALWAYS be a part of my life, but I want to be somewhere else with it. At first i thought it wasnt going to work, then i mourned the loss of food, then i saw that it did work, now i am over losing my buddy (food) and now i want to live life. I was looking on my myspace page thinking my goodness it's a walking billboard for the surgery. im not saying i dont want people to know that ive had it. but i kinda want to move past it. does that make sense??

heres an example: i have heard it said to me before by people i have just met, that they "never would have guessed" i was ever heavy or what have you and that i look like a "regular" person. if i didnt mention it they wouldnt know. well i guess my conflict is, im not trying to hide it, but i dont want to advertise anymore. i just want to resume living. everything was put on hold to adjust to this specific part of my life and now i want the rest of my life back lol. is that wrong??

i am so grateful for this opportunity that i have been given. It has changed me completely. there will be others who will say they were never insecure or what have you pre-op. well i was TOTALLY insecure. i have done a total change here. i walk with my head held high. im confident in my responses when people ask me about it. i feel better about myself and feel i deserve better than what i have settled for pre-op. i have a totally different mindset about life and value of people in it etc. i dont have a BIG HEAD about it, but it DOES change a person. PLEASE do not misunderstand what i am saying. I TOTALLY aknowledge the fact that I had surgery, and my pouch is now a tool and i have to eat to live instead of living to eat, but im ready to move on to the next chapter. is that arrogant of me?

always internal turmoil with me....
UGH!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Kenya -- you are so unique! So you! And you are a NEW YOU! So it is fine to just live your life as the new you and leave your past behind. You don't have to ignore it or deny it -- but you don't have to advertise it either. You can just live your life each day as it comes and be happy being who you are. Unique. Beautiful and full of life!

Kenya no it is not arrogant of you to think this way, you are a new person and it is almost a year since your surgery and you should be ready to put the past away and move forward to a new life.

I also agree with everyone. There is no need to "advertise" about your surgery. That is between yourself and whom ever else you feel should know about it. Other than that keep on being the fabulous YOU that you are!

Kenya, you can move about the cabin as you see fit sweetie! LOL This is your life, and you just graduated to the next level. You choose to share or not to share--go on with your new life and be happy. No one needs to know the old Kenya if you don't want them to know--

I think you are just growing as a person and this shows your newest level of maturity. I've wondered too how long most people go before they are just themselves again and not "WLS Debbie" just Debbie.
