I've been doing a lot of reflecting lately, most probably because the end is near. Which I am fine with. I was looking thru my old htreads when it hit me. Somewhere along the way, I have gotten a bit comfy with the new me; content, happy, satisified with the "success" of all of this and somewhat lazy with the rules. and just as a reminder to myself of where I've been and where I never want to be again, I figured I would post these. I dont even have "before" pictures. The pictures taken 3 weeks post op are my only reference and by then i was already down around 20 or 25 lbs. it's embarassing to look at how i was and know that i thought i was ok then...and then to compare it all to now; it blows my mind.

I urge everyone to do this, no matter what stage you are at. It puts things into perspective.

Of course i have to thank all of you for the support and wisdom. Without it none of us would have made it as far as we have. I truly do love you all and consider you all family

I have often thought about that too, the not forgetting where I came from when this is all said and done, and for it the thought was also there of never wanting to forget how I felt as the fat girl and to always have compassion for all the obese people out there still struggling to find a way to be comfortable in their own skin.

Kenya, when I look at your before photo, I am seeing me. Same kind of shape. except you are tall aye? and im obviously a shorty..lol
I draw inspiration from everyone, but relate that little bit better to those who are around my weight group, as I dont know what its like to be in the 300's.
I am just so proud of everyone who has gone before me, and offers their advise to those of us coming after them. You have done an amazing job, and really deserve every happiness. I love reading your threads and posts.
I have my before pics all sorted. The Worst of the worst. I hope I am brave enough to post one of those ones on here.
Actually, I am brave enough, through the inspiration that you all bring, I am brave enough.
So from a newbie, Thank-you. Thank-you for being so honest and supportive.
You will be ok in the next phase, you just need to look back and see how far you have come! You wont jepardise that.

agreed Kenya..I am always encouraging people to post lots of pics...I think it helps you see for yourself how far you've come (cuz that fat mentality still wreaks havoc with our brains!)

You have come a long way and have everything......everything to be proud of. I have I picture I keep up in the computer room to show me every time how far I come. I hate the pic but the hubby likes it because its the one with me and our family friend. I cant wait until September to have that one retaken! LOL.

i just think sometimes how crazy all of this is. I mean this time last year i was wearing a size 22 jeans and they were TIGHT. today i wear a kids 14. KIDS. adult size 4 or 6 depending on where i get them. its NUTS. i have NO IDEA where all the time (and sizes) went. but i dont ever want to be back there. i was SO uncomfortable physically, mentally, just in every possible way. people just dont realize how something as "simple" as losing weight affects one life in ALL areas. i wish i could find more books on this. SOMETHING. i would love to read about people's experiences with this in depth. i find the psychology of all of this fascinating to say the least.
