ok, so i am trying to figure out how to say this...when i use to diet b4 surgery, i would have this feeling that dieting= not eating and it worked well ya know for a little while, you would take off a good amount of weight then it would go back on then some. since my surgery i have done well and eaten what i am supose to, till recently when i have been messing up, now i am back on track but am fighting in my mind with this old mentalaty of mine, dieting=not eating...i havent fell back into this yet, i have been eating and what i am supose to, wonder why my mind tells me this?? just thoughts bouncing around in my head.....

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

While you have a new tool, you do not have a new *brain* so to speak.
You need to retrain your brain in regards to how you relate to food while you lose willy nilly when you are still early out and unable to eat much. As your pouch settles, and you start experimenting, you consciously need to re-learn how to eat healthy. If you leave your brain up to its old habits, you may find yourself reverting to old eating habits, and while you won't be able to *stuff* in as much as you could at once, pre op, it still is easy to start grazing and go back to bad food choices.

Rather than beating yourself up when you fall off track, it's more important to dust yourself off, and get back on track, rather than mess up-> feel guilty -> stress out -> eat to relieve stress-> feel guilty...and so on. No need to feel guilty, it's going to take multiple times until you can stay on track fairly easily. Also, it's best not to rely on pseudo-diet methods to get back on track, as if you depend on them, you will not be able to get out of the diet=not eating mentality. You need to pick up with your surgeon and nut's eating instructions everytime you fall off track. Back to basics. That is the best way to make the new healthy eating pattern a habit, second nature, and stick.
