Default hair it goes...

,,,,hello people....i know i have asked u guys hairloss questions in the past...and i even just searched hairloss questions other people have posted before i did...but the one question i couldnot find the answer to was this....HOW LONG does this hairloss thing last??? Its been "falling out" for a few weeks now,,mainly when i blow dry it...its very unnerving to say the least,, and i keep thinking if this were to go on everyday for the next lets say 6 months,,i'll be bald!!! i started taking 5000mg of biotin a day so hopefully that will help things..but WHEN will it atleast slow down???

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I started the hairloss thing at about 50 pounds down and have slowed down in the last month - give or take - so I'd guess for me it was about a good six months. I was heaviest for about 3 of those months and now it just feels like a normal hair loss. You know, I was thinking about this the other day and how so many of us have people tell us they really didnt notice hair loss (hard to believe when it falls out so much in the shower, etc) but I wonder if it is because we're changing so much and our faces are slimming down so it's less obvious than if we were only losing hair.

I started losing my hair about 1 month ago. It is devistating! I hear it is normal, so I am waiting it out, taking biotin, and lots of protein.

Yeah I would like to know too- I don't mind losing it terribly.....but even with taking handfuls out of the shower and throwing them away my drain is still clogged! What a pain!

Mine fell out really heavy for about two months, then it slowed down to maybe 20 strands each time I wash it and is still this way at 7 months. Sorry, I don't know when it will totally end.

I started loosing mine at about 4 months out of surgery. It slowed down after a couple of months, but I still had a little loss the third month. It is finally starting to grown back in. It was sticking out funny at the back of my head at the neck line, so I broke down and had it cut. I really didn't want to cut it, but it was hard to fix and not look like Bozo the clown...LOL

Pretty much along the same lines as the rest, started falling out heavily at 3 months and slowed at about 7-8 months and in my 9th month it seems to have slowed way down......I also started 5000 of biotin after the fact but I do think it helped witht the re-growth....hang-in -there they promised me we would not go bald, and noone on here ever said that they did lol.. Well mine started about a month after surgery, but I lost 40 lbs in 6 weeks pre-op, so really 2 1/2 months after the weight loss started. It seems like it has slowed down slightly in the last week or so. That's good for me because my hair is thin. I've been taking biotin since before surgery, so hopefully it'll pay off one day!
