Default What's great about ditching the Weight!

Hi all,

I have decided to start a Thread that will be somewhat ongoing, as new things occur to me everyday that make be SOO happy to have had WLS. I'll post a couple reasons at a time as I think of them, and hope you all can relate a little!

WHAT'S GREAT ABOUT DITCHING THE WEIGHT...

1~Putting on a bathing suit or elastic waist bands without looking like
Mr. Stay-Puffed

2~Being able to do less retarded jumping jacks because your knees can actually touch now!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

to have my life back again. To be able to walk and an exercise again. To look in the mirror and not wanting to cry. Leaving the house often instead of hiding away from the world. Going shopping and not having to shop in the old ladies space. ( even tho I am I dont feel like it anymore. lol) Being able to keep up with the grand kids ... going camping and fishing ... to get off seven meds and no longer being type II diabetic. Off all asthma meds also. Oh I could go on and on but I dont want to bore ya. Can you tell I am a happy camper. lol

Knowing I will probally make it to see my grandkids if my son ever decides to get married and make me a grandmother. I hope to see their kids to.

Feeling like I am living again instead of hibernating in a shell for years.

I could go on all night.

Being able to hold my grandkids on my lap, which I missed when they where babies, I had no lap for them to hold on.
Not depending on family to do my gardening for me, I do the gardening all by myself now.
Love that hubby says that I am hard to find in the store becasue I blend in with normal size people.
I fit into chairs at the doctors office and other places, that is so huge for me.
I can go on long walks without getting tired just walking a 1/4 a mile, I can walk a few miles now.
I can do my kitchen cooking without having to sit by the table to do everything.
Thin people that walk behind me or just by seeing me do not snicker at me becasue I was soooo heavy.
I can look in the mirror and see a much smaller person at times and some times not so much.
Just enjoying smaller size cloths now and not the fat cloths that I use to wear.
I had pretty cloths when I was heavy but it is much nicer to look at the smaller size now.
I finally got my life back again, and am living it to the fullest.

Being able to cross my legs, having people say "you're so little!", being able to walk up and down the stairs several times a day without even thinking about being short of breath, playing with my grandsons, buying smaller clothes, being able to sit comfortably (well, my butt still hurts!) in an airplane seat, going into a store and knowing tht I can fit into the clothes there, not letting "fat" define me! I, too, could go on all night, but that's a start!

Not needing to buy a huge motorcycle because I'm not carrying two people every time I get on it!

Being able to sit in the cars that my students are making for projects without them making comments about fitting it for the 95th percentile male!

Getting a much larger, roomier car without even trading the old one in, because it IS the old one!

At banquets, knowing that, even though I may eat the least, I'll probably be the last one finished!

Enjoying this new life and its blessings, and starting to see them showing up in my wife, who is getting much skinnier!! I may not be able to lift my arm yet, but I can still put my arms around her now!

Being able to MOVE again! It feels so good to move more gracefully, more quickly and to be able to bend and flex. Fabulous!
