Thumbs up My 2nd Beginning

Today is Day 1 of my 2nd beginning. I am 5 years post op of the Roux-En-Y procedure.
For the last couple of months I have been depressed and concentrating on the negative. For examples, I had gained back 35 pounds, I had failed the surgery, yada yada yada... It was nobody'd fault but mine. I had went back to old eating habits.
Last Thursday I went back to Bypass surgeon and kinda unloaded on him. I love that man... he just sat there and listened then we prayed. I asked him about the 5 day pouch reset program (Ibrought print outs to him). He thought it was a great thing to do. He also sent the dietician in to talk with me. I came home with a new attitude.
I am starting over you might say. I'm doing the 5 day pouch reset and then sticking with my basic guidelines from the surgery. My demons are breads and potatoes and PASTA!!! And not to mention, getting back into an exercise routine. But with a positive attitude and support from this site and my family... I WILL lose those 35 pounds and hopefully a few more.

God Bless to all..... Keep yoour spirits up as well as your head and keep smiling!

Tammy

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Sounds like you have an exceptional doctor! Follow his wise counsel and you can't go wrong!!

The 5-day will help kill the carb monster (again!) It'll be up to you to keep him dead. Several times now you've given him power over you, and he has done you wrong every time!! He is NOT your friend, no matter what he makes those things whisper seductively in your ear. ("Eat me - just a little won't hurt!") He has proven his animosity towards you, and he got upset when you met goal your first time, but he got even in the end.

KILL THE CARB MONSTER!!! Don't let that devil get up off the mat this time. Bury him and burn the shovel! That is the only way you will ever be able to live a happy life at goal.

Glad to hear you received some pretty good directives from your surgeon. That is so wonderful that you have a surgeon who believes in you and cares about you, even after his immediate job is done.
Just that you have decided to tackle the job, means that the job is half done. So, for the remaining half, stick to your surgeon, and stick around here, too.
((((HUGS)))) Hang in there, you CAN do this

OK.. first of all thanks for all the support... I'm on the 2nd day of liquids.. and I am finding myselg hungry about every 3 hours.. now I'm guessing it's because there has been NO CARBS put into my body and it's craving the protein. I feel like I'm drinking constantly...however after I start drinking a high protein shake...that hunger "pain" goes away.

As for the question by bliuz 15666 about what the dietician said to eat... she advised me to start thinking protein again... smaller plate with 2/3 of it with protein the other 1/3 with veges.... important not to drink with meals(guilty) and wait 30-45 minutes until I do. She gave me a 10 day sample menu with some recipes. Always remember to get in your water...... Everything I already knew what to do but seemed to have pushed it right out of my head!!!

I went out to the store and bought butter spray...canned tuna and chicken and made me tuna and chicken salads for tomorrow. I already had talapia and salmon in my freezer. I mad me some Splenda Sweet Tea.

I still have a question about meals.... can we do 6 small meals a day..or strictly stay with 3 meals a day...but at work I get stressed (nursing will do it for ya) so in turn I get "snacky" any suggestions for that?

Love, Peace, and the thought of Chicken Wings!!!

3 meals or 3 meals with 1-2 snacks or 6 meals depends on your surgeon, so you should ask them.
If you get the muchies at work, keep some high protein snacks with you --protein bars may be too high in fat/carb so beware, check the labels first--jerkys, cheese cubes or sticks, etc.
