| WLS Mentor  |  This Mask What do you see inside of me that makes you stop and stare so you see who i try to be or do you even care i wear this mask upon my face so others do not see the pain that lingers in the place of who i want to be No one knows I wear this mask it's in its place for every task yet underneath lay unseen tears mingled with my unspoken fears What others see on the outside fools them into believing they do not see what i hide they think they know my very being The cruel words they speak outloud seem to brush me by yet they envelop me in a cloud that makes me want to die No one knows that underneath I grind and clash my teeth thinking of what i'd like to say thinking maybe another day I am afraid to let them see my true identity I have to be what they expect if i want their respect why does their opinion matter to me' when i know i'm beautiful inside why can't they just let me be so I wouldn't have to hide Soon this mask will be gone and they will see that they were wrong but the harm is already done my mistrust they have won freebird |
