Default Spiritual Needs - March 22, 2006

Meditation for the Day
You cannot have a spiritual need that God cannot supply. Our fundamental need is a spiritual need, the need of power to live the good life. The best spiritual supply is received by you when you want it to pass on to other people. You get it largely by giving it away. God gives you strength as you pass it on to another person. That strength means increased health; increased health means more good work, and more good work means more people helped. And so it goes on, a constant supply to meet all spiritual needs.
Prayer for the Day
I pray that my every spiritual need will be supplied by God. I pray that I may use the power I receive to help others.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Beautiful! And a sentiment I truly believe in. Not a day passes that I don't think of others and what I can to do to help and that I thank G-d that He has given me the ability to assist wherever and whenever possible. Spirituality is the root of our being and it is a blessing to share it.

This matches one of my faveorite hymns from church. I hope you don't mind me sharing it with you now. The title is Because I Have Been Given Much
Because I have been given much, I too must give;
Because of thy great bounty, Lord, each day I live
I shall divide my gifts from thee With every brother that I see
Who has the need of help from me.

Because I have been sheltered, fed by thy good care,
I cannot see another's lack and I not share
My glowing fire, my loaf of bread, My roof's safe shelter overhead,
That he too may be comforted

Because I have been blessed by thy great love, dear Lord
I'll share thy love again, according to thy word
I shall give love to those in need; I'll show that love by word and deed:
Thus shall my thanks be thanks indeed.

My parents place the words to this hymn in our bathroom wall by the mirror, and it helped serve as a reminder that no matter what I though was missing in my life, I had much to be grateful for and were therefore obligated to try to help others to show my appreciation. I hope that you like these words and that they speak out to you as they do me. I think that your attitude towards us reflects this message very well.

God continually gives me strength I couldnt live a day without him. Strength to do the things that need to be done and to not do the things I shouldn't like smoke or eat bad foods. I praise him daily for his blessings and hope that I can pass this sentiment to others in that they too will be able to share in the blessings...

pillow - i've always loved that hymn. i love singing praises and thanks to God (block your ears everyone). I truely would not have made it this far in life it were'nt for him carrying me forward, sometimes even pulling me in the direction i need to go. i do hope that i am sharing my spiritual blessings and gifts and His strength with others. I could discuss God all day if you gave me the chance. I guess that's why alot of my poetry has to do with God, His love, His strength ect.

Mousie, i think every relationship with God is different for every person, i am so glad to hear you working your relationship with God out. As for praying correctly, well, i guess the catholics have a different view than i do but that to is probably a personal relationship things also. I don't think you can pray incorrectly if it is coming from the heart, and as long as your prayers are from the heart i don't see how they can be boring. I've been on a spiritual journey longer than i have been on this weight loss journey and i truely believe that if God has meant it to be, it will be, wether we accept it or not. You are working so hard for the things that you need in your life to become healthy again, and you are also working hard on some of the other personal issues we have discussed, and (although i can't speak for Him), i'm sure that God is pleased to see you trying. And i definitely think he has hold of your hand and is lovingly walking you to where you need to be and helping you to discover yourself and your relationship with Him as you go. When i read your post i thought of two things. A wonderful poem called 'FootPrints' and a wonderful hym called 'Is it me Lord'. I'll find the poem for you (although you've probably already heard it), and i'll also find the hymn. Some of the memorable lines in the hymn to me are, (i have heard you calling in the night, and if you lead Lord, I will follow). i think it is so cool that just about everybody here has some form of relationship with their higher power and is willing to share and talk about it without being all in your face, Maybe that has something to do with the seriousness of this procedure?

I have said it before and will say it again that I think the reason that people on this site are so cautious about other people's beliefs and respectful is that we recognize the need for support in one another and that we don't want to do anything to go against the wonderful safety that Craig has created for us here. I just hope that we will extend that same respect and courtesy towards all of our neighbors and friends where it is not as easy a lot of times to extend it. I love you all.
