Perfection

I wrote this poem when i was feeling down because i couldn't lose weight and had gotten into a big argument with my Mom about things that were'nt good in my life.

Man is not perfect
he can not be
that's just the way it is
think of how boring liife would be if it were so
not only because there would be no challenge
in changing and perfecting oneself
but if each man were perfect
then each man would be the same
one of the beuties of life
is the uniqueness and difference
that each man has to offer
one to another
another reason for imperfection
is to strive for perfection
accepting the things that can not be changed
is a part of that perfection
and changing the things that can be changed
is growth towards the goal
so celebrate each step you take towards perfection
but also celebrate the things in you that are not changeable
and yet still not perfect
for that brings self acceptance
and in a way perfection
Remeber that you are uniquely you
no one is the same
and no one is perfect.

Well put Freebird. I used to tell people that normal is boring the last thing I wanted to be was normal. One movie that I saw lately that I really liked was Real Women Have Curves. It has America Ferrera in it, and it celebrates the fact that we don't have to be perfect in order to be beautiful. This is a really talented young female actress and she also did a fabulous job as Carmen in the movie version in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Good way of putting it.
