that's not what's inside of me
Don't be Fooled

Don't be fooled by my smile
For that is only what you see
I can make you think I'm happy
But that's not what's inside of me
Don't be angry at the deciet
There are times I've fooled even myself
I think I'm happy but then I find
Depression only hiding on an old shelf
There are so many things in this great big world
That can make me laugh and smile
But they are only temporal things
And they only bring happiness for awhile
There's no real reason for this feeling
At times I force my smile
At times I force my heart to sing
But I don't want to make people worry
And so through the day my smile will last
Happiness is really beyond my reach
I left it in a childhood long past
I know where that happiness can be found
But I don't know if I can make it through
It's not in this life and I'm afraid
Before I get there, I may quit,
