| Newbie | Hi everyone! I have been feeling down in the dumps lately. Since my wls on 11-29-06, I've lost 51lbs...but I've reached a plateau. I guess I just wish i would keep losing. Now, I'm starting to see where my hair is falling out more and more each day. Not in clumps, but it is noticeable. I try to eat as much meat as I can...but it seems like the only meat I can handle is chicken. I'm having trouble finding foods I can eat, that will stay down. Does anyone have any tips? I used to be able to go without snacking between meals, but lately, I've needed something. I'm afraid I will stretch my stomach out again and I don't want that to happen. I hope everyone is doing ok. Thanks for all the input. I'm really glad I found this website. |

| Super Moderator | ((((((((HUGS))))))))) A few things to consider. How about your inches? Though the numbers on your scale may not be moving, the numbers on your tape measure probably is. Aren't your clothes feeling looser despite the scale not moving? Search the board, and you will find some palateau buster methods, menus, and stuff about hairloss as well. Also, you may be getting the blues that hits many around this time. If it gets too hard to handle, professional help may be the route. Another thing you need to know is the Pouch Rules. This will help you with your eating habits. Last but not least, please check out our Gastric Bypass Recipe forum. You may find something you can use there. ((((((HUGS)))))

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | (((HUGS)))))kimmie! congratulations on the weight loss so far.... and you are at the phase the hair thinning begins. ITS not an easy phase.....for most of us... but keep in mind you will just get thin and not go totally bald like a cancer patient under treatment does. NO matter what its a tuff phase and i know personally it got to me bad. FOR me i always had hunger from early out..or what i thought was hunger and had to do 3 meals and 3 PROTEIN snacks. I was very careful what i ate between meals to keep healthy habits in tact. ALSO drinking with meals and starting up with your water to soon can cause hunger too soon by pushing the food thru your pouch to soon. I know my rules are no drinking with a meal and to wait 30 mintues after a meal to resume my water drinking. SOMETIMES the need for water (dehydration) comes out in hunger and getting the water in helps feel full. ALSO makeing meals full with protein and snacks keep us full and satisfied longer then other carb type stuff. AS far as proteins...you just got to work it and find foods that will work...if the meats are really getting you sick.......try peanut butter and cream cheese some. Hard boiled eggs, tuna fish moistened with lowfat mayo or even chicken and eggsalad may go down well. I found meats prepared in slow cookers that are at a falling apart melt in your mouth stage sometimes go down better....its trial and error. IF your thinking your protein isnt up to were your surgeon wants it there are always products to use to help.... protein shakes, protein puddings (stallone puddings), cheeses just have to work at it. I am sure your doing fine and there are times that your body has to adjust and stalls and plataeus do happen . YOUR most probably just looseing the visual inches right now so relax your changeing sized...the weight loss will begin again. WHEN i went thru a hard time at the early months and found the scale not to be moving as i wanted or just feeling down what always brought me up into better moods was going to the stores and trying on new clothes seeing what size i now was. THAT seemed to always lift my spirirts. TRY it even if you dont have the money to buy new clothes just try on some stuff and see how your shrinking! HUGS hang in there and i look forward to getting to know you more and more thru your posts and im glad you found this board for support. We all need it on this journey! hugs
