I have a family Doc that is not that familiar with the Gastric Bypass as I would prefer. I have been searching online trying to find a new one that would be able to properly support me as needed now that I am post op. Everything I find is actual surgeons but I have a great surgeon and really just need a family doctor for your average check ups and daily health. Any ideas on how to find the right dr in my area?
Thanks!!

Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery. Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.
Have you asked the staff in your surgeon's office? or ask the surgeon? I would even ask other patients in the waiting room. They may all know of PCP's in your area who are more familiar.

Also, asking your surgeon and/or his staff is a very good idea, they may know some PCPs who keep in constant touch with them, or often attend information seminars for physicians to keep up with the special needs of WLS patients.

Awesome thanks. I was hoping to get a DR closer to me, my surgeon is 30 miles from me so it is a bit of a drive and a pain if I were to get a DR there as opposed to my city or closer in the metro. But I will keep asking and looking.
THANKS again
