I'm a little over 2 years out from by-pass surgery, and have been having major "women" problems for the past year or more (ok men, you can stop reading now if you want to). I am scheduled for a hysterectomy next month. My GYN did say that he's seen alot of patients after WLS who have problems and have to go this route. Has anyone else had one post-surgery and how did you do? Is there anything extra or "special" that I need to do or know? He says I'll only be in the hospital 1 day, but I plan to take 6-7 weeks off work.
I don't know if I'm looking forward to being off work or not having pains more. I think it's a toss up.

Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery. Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.
If it's just hysterectomy, you probably won't need all the 6 weeks.
Now, if you ask nicely, your surgeon may take off some extra skin in the local area when closing up, though it's going to be done lap, that won't be possible.

I had a hysterectomy 12? years before WLS surgery. I am just"chiming" in to tell you I have never regretted. I had "problems" my entire life. I was done with throwing up and passing out every month. I jokingly say "I would sell hysterectomies door to door". Take off all the time you can, but becareful not lift anything (groceries..) your muscles are cut or sore. Don't push a vacuum for a while either. You feel pretty good within 6 months, but in a year you are FANTASTIC,
