Unhappy Time can't go by quick enough....

I began this journey with a huge gung ho attitude. My requirement for surgery was to lose 35lbs. I have since lost 43lbs, but with the holidays here and us Hispanics cooking all the flavorful goodies for the holidays, it's getting really hard for me to keep those numbers where they are.

I still have 2 months before I see the surgeon and get my pre-op date and to top it off I have a 5 day cruise coming up for valentines day. I'm in the ring and have been going 10 rounds so far but my willpower wants to throw in the towel. I'm pleased to report however that it's been 3 months since I have eaten sweets and I no longer crave them so I've kicked the sweet tooth habit. Now if I can only stay on my diet without cheating. I start out the day great, but by dinner time, the rice and beans start calling my name.

This surgery is so very important to me. Time can't go by quick enough. I'm tired of dieting. After surgery I won't ever have to diet again because it will be a new way of eating with restrictions which I love. I just need some motivation by you great people in order to help me keep focused. My goal is to see the surgeon in February with a weight of 280lbs. I know I could do this, I just need a push. Thanks guys for listening.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

You really CAN do this. You sound very motivated and your mind is in the right place. You just have to remind yourself of the long term benefits. Try to enjoy the company and the good will of the season. That's what it's all about anyway, isn't it?

I know you can do this too! If you're like I was your life may very well depend on it.
Keep pushing forward, keep your eye on the prize. You won't regret it!

Hey Butterfly, I'm very proud of you and think you've been doing an amazing job with your pre-op weight loss. I too exceeded my surgeon's expectations prior to surgery and even though I didn't have the holidays to deal with I still had the temptations of my old food habits taunting me. I in fact started to worry that I wouldn't qualify for surgery anymore but you know what I found out? The more weight you lose pre-surgery and the lower your BMI gets increases your future success and resolutions of comorbidities! (I will try and find the article that showed this study) I know you can do this!
Another thing... you should be able to eat your beans... just stay away from the rice!

Lol...you guys are funny. Thanks for the motivational words. I will do my best to stay on track. I keep saying to myself, "I control food. Food doesn't control me". I just gotta stay on the wagon instead of falling off so many times. The guilt is not worth the cheat. Thanks again all. You guys are the bomb.

Hang in there, at least you beat the sweet tooth.
Why not have rice and beans???but measure it?
They don't seem like a horrid combo, but you can't eat a few cups.
I had similar stats, though I am taller. So I know your desire to drop the weight. You will be much happier when you do, too!
STICK WITH IT. You can do it!
