Talking Hair removal.

Well the Dr I work for is always trying to make a buck. LOL Anyways he has bought one of those laser hair removal wrinkle removal acne stopper etc...... machines. Its the ones like you go into the spas for. We are to get educated on its use Monday. I find out today...... this is thrilling that it can remove the hair from your legs, under your arms etc... Now im excited.

I have some freckles. Now I have had these all my life. Im not covered with them but you can tell. They seem to think that I might could have them taken off with this new machine. NO! LOL those freckles are a part of me and they wont go anywhere. The reason I have posted this, has anyone had any hair removal done?

I get to be a Ginny Pig on monday removing any (goat) hairs that pop out under my chin or on the end of it . I hope yall know what I mean. LOL I have a couple that drive me crazy from time to time. I was speaking to a dermatologist once and he told me that a hair like that can grow fast overnite and could grow up to 2 inches in some cases. WOW huh.

This will be a free service to me when I want to have somthing done. I need to get it all done reality quickly because I dont plan to stick around after I start pulling the weight off. I have posted before about my boss and my dislike of him. Not the surgeon he is. The Person he is I have a major problem with. So.... Enough of that.

If any of yall have had it done tell me what you think and would you do it again.....and was it worth the money. I will having to try to sell it to patients soon so I would like to know mabye from yall.

Yes I know im lucky......trust me. If I never have to shave my legs or pluck the goat hairs again I will be excited. LOL.

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I had a friend who had it done. She said it didn't work well for her, but then they told her it works better on dark hair color not blondes and she is definitely a blond. But she said her friend told her about and loved it (she has dark brown hair). Don't understand why the hair color would make a difference, but that is what she told me.

MsVickie, I have facial hair. Thank you great grandma, grandma and Mom. Anyway I had laser hair removal a few years ago. It worked for a while but then grew back. They kep saying I needed more treatments. I was single and could not afford to keep going at the time. Thinking about going back now but waiting to see if my harmones will change the rapid growth. Also I was told it will not work on white hair. No pigment or some such thing like that. Now I have a lot more white whiskers than I did at that time. Good luck with your treatments. They will work on special spots but mine are is a lot bigger than a spot. LOL. Mattie

Ha Ha Mattie your funny ! I love your humor to. I have seen it emerge more in the last month and a half. Yep they say light hair seems to have more trouble. I have no idea why. One of my hairs on my chinny chin chin is grey white whatever ! LOL and the other is black. I suppose if im gonna have gray hair it needs to be on the chin. Yes Its laser. A new machine of sorts that has just come out. Not supposed to be no pain what so ever. Cools the skin as it works. Im anxious to see. I will let yall know if its worth the cost of the procedure.

Darker hair being better probably has something to do with darker hair/hair root absorbing/reacting better to the laser beams.
Nope, never had it done, I do remember a friend wanting to have it done, but the $$$ (dang, can't find the yen mark) was in her way.

hehehehe you girls cracked me out!!

OK let me tell you a secret I do have goat hairs, YES BELIEVE IT OR NOT!! well first time I had it I guess I was around 18! and I was so pissed off, went to many doctors and they all said that I don't have any hormonal disorders it's all because I'm over weight!! so hmm I remember maybe 3 yrs ago I had ~ 4 laser sessions and they were annoying not because they were painful but I had to stop any other hair removal process for that particular area! I did the chin, sides of the cheek, and the upper lip area. the ugly thing of the process is that you have to leave the hair grow and never use the wax or tweezer just use your figures to pull the hair out and amazingly they got removed so easily! I wasn't so patient enough to do the rest of the sessions and returned back to my normal procedures!
the hair is lighter now! but I still need to wax/thread it! you girls might not be familiar with threading it's soooooooooooooooooo amazing! I do the full face along with my eye brows! here are some pictures on threading

I know many other girls who did the laser properly and now they don't need to the normal ways of hair removal!

Good luck MsVickie enjoy the experience! don't forget to apply a burnning cream on the lasered areas!

However, for the rest of the body we normally Arab women do sugaring! it's a bit painful but you feel soooooooooooooo clean like a new born baby afterwards hehehehe, the hair don't grow for almost a month!!. here are some pictures too

Love,
Hanadi

Hiya,

I had the laser done about 3 years ago, and it worked out great. I was told the same thing about the light color hairs. You can not wax or pluck anything for about 4 weeks before hand and they ask that you shave any area if need be. You could hear and smell the laser zapping the area, it gave me goosebumps, but it really did not hurt. They gave me a moisturizer to use and advised that I wear good sunscreen on my face for the rest of the year if I went out. I had my full face done. I still have the white colored peach fuzz, and was told that they were working on a machine that could possibly work on that. I say go for it!!! If not, you will spend big bucks if you go out on your own to do it. I really dont remember how much it was just for my face, but I want to say $800.00. I would LOVE to go back and get my legs done...oh how nice that would be to not have to reach for the razor everytime I got in the shower!!
