Default Help..My OB freaked me out

I went to my Ob yesterday for my yearly exam. I told her I was having surgery on Sept. 11. The first thing she said was are you sure that is what you want to do. I asked her why she was concerned. She told me that she has a few patients who have had the surgery and have many problems. Feeling bad all the time, not absorbing nutrients and getting osteoperosis (sp). This is such a roller coaster ride of emotions. I need to hear some happy things from people who have had the surgery

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

In my experiance you run into all sorts of people that have formed there own thoughts on the surgery.

When i was going for the surgey 3 years ago my OB at the time told me the same simalar thing.

well in my case I ended up changing OB and The one i have now thought it was a great idea and was very suportive in my discision being a good one and the right desision.

In the end you will do what is right. I just looked at it this way i can be 27 years old have a heart attack and die. or i can be 27 have the surgery start takeing care of my body and makeing it health and live a long beautiful life. In the end if god forbid something did happen at least I know i did what i thought best would make me healthy.

I am not gonna sugar coat things but the things your OB warned can happen....
but for me at 310 lbs i was a heart attack or stroke just waiting to happen any moment which could have resulted in death for me ....but now
i am 2 years post op and down 143 lbs.
I think its a personal decision but you have to be aware everyone
is different post op.
MY blood work comes out fine.
I feel great.
and for me i have no regrets. I do feel further out things are much easier then the first year in eating so yes during the rapid weight loss
its harder but now its pretty much normal...
good luck in your decision.
hugs

yeah i would think the rewards FOR ME definitely outweighed any fears of the bad stuff. i am confident that if i do what my surgeon instructs and take my supplements for the rest of my life, i will be ok, whereas without this, in another 10 years or so i coul dhave had a stroke or heart attack or what have you. its a personal choice for sure, and a tough decisoion to make, but the positived outweigh the negatives for sure.

i have no regrets as well. of course i am only 3 months out lol! but i feel pretty good. in fact i havent felt better in YEARS. just think about it, and if you change your mind, its YOUR choice. we'll still support you regardless

I agree with all the ladies that posted before me. Then again Im only 3.5 months out but I already feel better than I have in years. My blood pressure is down, Ive lost 68 pounds and I have so much more energy. I too was a heart attack or something else waiting to happen. So there are alot of emotional things that go along with it. I feel that I made the right decision and Im happy with mine. There are pros and cons but so far so good for me. And no matter what, your gonna get negative comments from some people. I still do but this was my decision and I made it. Best of luck with your decision and your surgery. We are here to support you!!!!

I agree with everyone else, my quality of life was starting to change and even though previously I was dead against the surgery my life was not the same and I needed to make a change. So for me the pros outweighed the cons and here I am very happy that I have had the surgery and upset that I waited so long.

Sweeite, Make sure you have a compentent surgeon and do exactuly what they say. Your body will talk to you and let you know if somthing is not right. You know the risk involved and Possibly some of the outcomes. Take care honey
