Default Sleep Apena

Well,

I have told yall before I have a horrible time sleeping. I have asked my hubby if i stop breathing. He has always told me no. I knew I snored by the comments I get from hi and my son. LOL

So anyways a month ago i complained to my PCP AGAIN! about my sleep. I was actually after a sleep med to keep me out because my hubby stated I didnt stop breathing AKA have sleep Apena. Well my FNP decided she wanted a oxygen stat on me first. It was a little thing like they put on your finger for surgery to measure your oxygen. Well i did that and they suggested a sleep study.

So i go in a couple Saturday nights ago and have this done. The hubby got to come with me and sleep in the same bed.

I go my results today. Hold on now....... I stopped breathing 64 time a hour! averaging just a tad over one a minute. Can you imagine????? I set these up all the time where I work. Now I can honestly say..... I have never seen one this bad. I said so what do they catagortizries this as......SEVERE SLEEP APENA !

Im a bit freaked i know what this intells. I go back tonight and yes i said TONIGHT to get Tritated for this. This means getting the C-pap on and they turn it up during the night until I stop doing the apena.

This was always in the back of my mind that mabye I had it. I could litteraly come home from work go to sleep and wake up when it was time for work. Same thing on the weekends. I would just assume sleep .

I will send the report to my surgeon so he knows. I think all I will have to do is bring the C-pap to the hosptial with me and have them place it on me after i wake up. If anyone else wants to share there sleep apena storys please do.

My hubby had it but i could hear him stop breathing. He didnt me because they said I do it so much it was normal to him.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

That's about as bad as mine....LOl. On your second trip they figure out how much air pressure it takes to keep you breathing steadily. You will really feel a huge difference in your rest once they get you completely outfitted with your machine.

I had some trouble breathing in the recovery room after my surgery last week, they had to big my cpap machine into the recovery room after. It will be great that you will have yours to help you out in recovery after your surgery if you need it.

I am glad you got this settled before your WLS.

Congrats on getting the diagnoses.

WELL honestly its a good thing you found out PRE OP that you have sleep apnea. I knew i snored and snored loud ...but the pulmonary specialist
i saw said it was my narrow air way.
THAT oxygen test they did on me was perfect so they didnt send me for the sleep studies....well it totally sucked when i was in the hospitol
cause every time i fell asleep and stopped breathing i set off all the alarms..due to that i got no sleep when in the hospitol recoverying.
THEY tried to use a generic cpap machine on me but i couldnt handle that just days after surgery with my lungs weak from surgery. IT sucked
so best to have this resolved now! so that you will have a CPAP machine with u when you have the surgery and not trigger all these alarms...and get the rest you need.

So I told him today I had to go be fitted for my boyfriend. He knew exactualy what I meant LOL !

Yes they do look strange but..... I have seen the ones they had 5 years ago compared to the ones now. The ones now dont make a noise. The older ones you had to detirmne which was worse the snoring partner or the mask ! LOL. Anyways Im about ready to leave. I know when my hubby had his first tritation he got up that am and said Man I havint slept like that in years. I actually dreamed? He hadnt dreamed in years. Acttually failed a class in college that made him write down his dreams for a semester. So wow on that one to. Ok Let me go do this thing and i will let yall know if i feel a tad better tomorrow.

I am so glad you found out early enough. Please use your stuff. My friend, who had surgery a week before me, didn't use her stuff and spent a lot of time in recovery and had to be intubated (sp?).

CraigT knew he had apnea, but did't take his CPAP with him (the drs didn't think of such details 10 years ago) and kept setting off the alarms througout his stay in recovery, the story he told us was absolutely hilarious. The nurses kept waking him up, and he was only half conscious, swatting them away.
