Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass  |  Today was a painful day for me and... I am almost 8 weeks out! Ouchy, my pouchy was ouchy today. All I ate was string cheese (I've eaten this since week 2 and I chew the heck out of it!) and it was like my pouch was on fire all morning. It didn't calm down until I drank some hot decaf coffee. Has anyone else experienced this? It felt better when I was laying down. When I was sitting up, it really hurt and walking was torture! It scared me too death! I went walking last night and walked a lot of hills, so my thought was I had pulled a muscle. But, it didn't respond to Tylenol; only hot coffee. Was it gas? Can anyone help with this?

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I didn't realize that about cheese. I used to take Protonix, but my surgeon switched me to Pepcid Complete and it was doing fine. I still have the pain this morning when I tried to eat. I could feel it. Do you think I have just irritated my pouch some how?

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Lots of things can irritate your pouch. Something you ate yesterday might not agree with you today. I have had that before and it is scary and painful. It could be the food and you could have eaten too much of it or eaten it too fast, or not chewed it up enough, or gotten too much air with your foods. I don't think taking antacids can help. Aint life fun!
