Default Childcare and recovery

So many of you have children and I am at my witts end.

How can I focus on recovering and resting and sipping and researching and planning my food intake in advance when my 11 month old requires so much of my attention?

Normally she doesnt see me on a weekday until 4:30 PM, but she is clinging to me tirelessly all day each day since i came home from Hospital. She is teething and running a fever, so I know she isnt feeling well. But Dr said yesterday I need more Tina time, I'm too run down, not getting enough sleep and need to rest.

HOW!?!

My folks come over to help out and DH takes over baby detail when he gets home in the evening. But she doesnt want them, she wants her mommy!

HELP!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

do you have a part time babysitter or family she could go with during the day? you do need to focus on yourself for a bit....

While You Can Take Advantage Of Not Working You Should Be Concentrating On Yourself, You Dont Want To Have Any Setbacks. Im Telling You Everytime I Think I Feel Great I Try And Do Somthing That Doesnt Agree With Me. Like Yesterday My Daughter Dropped Food On The Floor And Instead Of Waiting For Dh To Pick It Up I Did And My Stomach Got The Weirdest Pain After That I Said Screw It He Will Get To It.

You Have To Find Someone To Care For Her. If You Were Working She Would Be With Someone Else So Thats How It Should Be While Your Still Trying TO Heal!!!!

i agree. i had my daughter home with me beginning week two...WHAT A NIGHTMARE lol! i mean she wasnt doing this on purpose to irritate me or anything like that, it was just hard keeping her entertained and fed etc. so by wweek 3 i started dropping her off at daycare part time just so I could do things for ME during the day. i felt a little guilty but hey, I'm glad i did it.

Boots NO MORE BENDING lol

It is hard. At the point I had surgery my baby had just turned 2, I could not carry him. That was hard because he only wanted me to hold him. I just became creative, but it did help that I have an 11 year old who helped to keep him occupied. If it is possible close up in a room where she can't see you and that will force her to be with dad or grammy.

I agree if you can get someone to help out that would be good. My kids are older, 12 & 8 but even then they need stuff. ITs hard to not help and do stuff for them. But the ladies are right......you need to take care of yourself and its so hard, especially with a little one. See if you can get some help. Maybe hide out in your bedroom or a different room so she doesnt see you. Easier said than done Im sure.

You need to have a part time sitter or day care person or friend take her for part of the day. I agree with your Dr when he says its your time. Honey if you dont take it easy you can cause your ownself complications and you dont want that. Just take care of you and get some help right now

Today was a bit better. My dad spent the night and when she woke up, he tended to her diaper change, getting dressed for the day, breakfast, etc... I slept until 8 AM then called in to work to see what was going on (though I was still in bed).

I had Tina time until around 11 AM when my dad came up and asked if I still wanted to go to Hobby Lobby. So I got up and took a shower and went to the Post Office and Hobby Lobby and Officemax. Came home dog dead tired. Who am I kidding?

Anyhow, my dads gone now. She didnt want much to do with him once I started stirring. Shes napping now so I am taking advantage and getting the sitter ad in the paper and on craigslist. I am also calling some day cares as well. Next week I am thinking I will either take her 1/2 days to the interim sitter or call a friends niece to see if she wants to come over and help. I do think she needs to be out of the house though. Thats the only way I can have Tina time.

I feel so selfish - shuffling Shelby Lynn all over Gods Country just so I can research and sleep. Anyone else ever have these feelings during recoup?

Tina,

I can totally relate! My son is 5 years old and I love him dearly. Very often since this surgery I feel like someone has got to take this kid off my hands! It totally makes me feel like a terrible mum, but I know that I still need my rest and me time to fully recover.

All of the ladies are right, you need to get that time by having a sitter or family member help you out. For the first week after surgery I had my son in daycare full time and now he goes just 2x a week. He's taking an afternoon nap with me on the days he's home, even though we stopped that almost a year ago. Mommy needs a nap now to recover.

Take care of yourself so you can take good care of your beautiful baby girl. Get that baby sitter. You're still a loving mom, but you just had major surgery!

Hugs!

Amy
