Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass |  What????!!!! Just thought I would let you guys know that I called the dermatologist today regarding my hair loss. Well I should say I called 5 of them. GRRRRR!  The appointment dates I got ranged from mid Sept thru late Nov. I stressed to them that I was going bald and needed to see someone ASAP. Guess this isn't a crisis for them. Anyway. I went ahead and scheduled the earliest one I could get which is Sept. 17th. The receptionist told me to call daily at 9:00 to see if there were any cancellations. So I will just wait and keep my fingers crossed. I am off to look at wigs now.

I will try to take a pic and upload it to show how the hair loss is progressing. I definitely don't think its WLS related because I make sure to get my protein and vitamins in since day one. I am not a vain person by no means, and I don't care if my hair thins out some.. I just don't want to lose it all.

AND to be honest those products like ROGAINE arent good for us because our problem is just temporary during the rapid weight loss stages, and once u use a product like rogaine (and others) you cant stop its forever. WE all have to ride out this phase... take lots of biotin for new growth. and take it easy on the hair coloring, and styling. I hated this stage and put me down tons! hugs

I've always had a teeny bald spot because I have a scar on my head around where my bangs start, but now it's really thinning. Even my husband noticed and he never notices anything. Of course he is about 8" taller than me... I tried wearing those hairband things to cover it up and they keep sliding back and ACCENTING the bald spot!!!!  Oh well, I'm debating on a hat. I work at night so I don't think I'm going to bother with a wig. I hope they get you in to the dermatologist soon. The stress on your body or hormonal imbalances can cause you to lose your hair too. Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass |  I went through this phase also. What i ended up doing is wearing a ponytail on top of my head where the balding was to cover it up. I also purchased hair extensions that have clips to cover the spots. The hair does grow back. Its a tough phase but most of us go through it. Just remember most people are focused on your body transformation and how beautiful you are, that they dont realize it as much as we realize it ourselves. Just focus on the positive, this phase will pass.....hang in there. LittleLisaMarie

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | That's the problem Lisa. I'm not sure if my hair loss is even surgery related. I haven't seen many people in my support groups who have lost their hair this way. Thinning and shedding yes, but complete bald spots from out of now where. UGH. That derm better hurry up and give me an appointment. lol. I am looking for wigs just in case it all falls out. Never wore one, but I hear they are so real looking these days. Thanks for the support.
