Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass  |  1 Week Anniversary!
Well, its been one week since I had my surgery! I was in recovery just about this time last week (though not awake yet) Its really amazing, but I truly feel like my whole world is different. I have lost 10 pounds since weighing in the morning for surgery. That's 10 pounds in one week! My goodness, I don't know if I ever did that on any diet I was on in the past! And I feel kinda guilty saying this but I feel so good. I have had so few problems since my surgery. I didn't need pain meds. The worst pain I had was the headache and that was caffine related and my pouch is allowing me to have caffine (just a little) but that has taken away the headaches. I am satisfied with what I'm eating -- though I am looking forward to soft foods! The worst problems I have now is I burp after everything! (even water) but their more air burps than food -- my husband thinks I'm swallowing too much air. And I have blisters on my belly skin from where the bandage adhesive sticks (guess I was allergic to it) But even my incisions are healed! And the drain hole is starting to heal (but that's two days behind the others) I just feel really blessed! I just looked at some pictures from my nephews wedding that we went to just before my surgery and saw that big fat woman (me) and thought I'm just never going to be like that again! What a wonderful thought that was! Because I realize that this tool I have been given is going to give me a whole new life and I am so excited about that. The thought of being HEALTHY -- yes, really healthy for the first time in over ten years. Eating right, excercising and realizing that I've got a real secret weapon to beat fat back for the rest of my life! It is really a WONDERFUL feeling!

Hi Jill, So glad that you are doing so well. I too had those horrible blisters from teh tape and as a matter of fact, still have them, since I still have my G Tube that has tape on it. I can't wait for that thing to be "outta here". I notice that I am much happier than I was...wow! I like that! |
