Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I'm having a pity party today. I went to the grocery store with my mom and my kids and on the way home they were munching on potato boats, chicken poppers and coke. I miss COKE!!!!!!!!!!!!! All I have eaten the past few days is tuna salad, chicken salad, fish and refried beans (which made me sick!) Will I ever be able to eat anything again. It wouldn't probably be as bad if I knew how to cook chicken or fish that would actually be good. Before surgery I was big on sauces: ketchup, barbecue, honey mustard, heinz 57, A-1 and that's how I would eat what ever I cooked. I'm really worried that I won't be able to figure out how to cook this stuff to make it taste good and yet be the right way. Today I had chicken salad for lunch and supper. This is really getting old. I also have only had skim milk or water since surgery. What else can I drink that tastes good? Thanks for letting me whine.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | hey there. dont feel that way. once you get past the stage you're at there will be plenty you can cook and eat. do you like ypgurt or cream of wheat? what about cottage cheese? it takes a bit to get there. but you will find your way. as for drinks, diet snapple, crystal light, sugar free kool aid, decaf coffees and teas, diet ocean spray are all good choices. everyone seems to do well with the crystal light and the diet snapple. but its one of those trial and error things. you'll get there. it gets easier i promise. hang in there |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Thanks guys. It just seems overwhelming sometimes, especially when you smell good food and really want it. It's also tough because I get full so easy. Not that I'm complaining. It's just that how will I ever be able to eat more than a few bites of something. I have the orange crystal light in the bottle and it didn't taste very good when I tried it a few weeks ago. Maybe I should try it again. Thanks again for your support.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I have gotten hooked on the sugar free kool aid. I also love the crystal light pink lemonade. Try some sugar free chocolate pudding. I was so proud today, I actually ate talipa for lunch and kept it down and had chicken with cream of mushroom on it and kept it down also. I like the sugar free puddings, but I like to eat mine warm. So I figured out how to turn a sugar free hot cocoa pkg into pudding. I add the pkg to 2/3 c water and then add 2t corn starch and heat slowly over med heat. Once it thickens I add a little bit of banana cut into small pieces. It is great.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Walmart has their brand of crystal light and it is great! I like some of their flavors better than crystal light. I was totally hooked on Cherry Limeade pre-op, but now it is the Fruit Punch, Cranberry Apple and Grape. Also, the Liptons White Tea with Cranberry and Apple is very good. |
