In my mind i've recreated
the way it used to be
I go there often, although i shouldn't
for now it only belongs to me
And every day and every night
i dream of things long gone
And though i live the way it was
i know i should go on
For when it's time to open my eyes
i do it very sadly
And though it's time to leave the past
i yearn for it so badly
in the past things were so grand
I hardly could believe
and now that they've let go my hand
it's the younger years i grieve
my tears they fall silently
my thoughts they go unheard
and though i try to make them see
they refuse to look at me
they don't believe i'm slipping back into the yesteryears
they think that i am faking
and imagining my fears
so let them have thier future
so long's the past is mine
for it is only in the past
that my sun will shine
