I know....a girl from OH had been chatting with her via PM and had no idea she was suicidal. It just goes to show you, you really never know if the support you are offering someone is the SUPPORT they need to keep them from doing this.

I guess she felt that she had no where to turn to. Life can be so sad at times. I haven't ever been "suicidal" but have had not so pleasant thoughts. "Life issues" can bring you down so low at times. I just don't know what to say.....I'm just so sad for them, you, me, and anyone else who's having "issues".

Chilly I have been suicidal in the past and its a horrible place to be. You just feel like you want all the pain and hurt to go away and the only way to do so is to end it all. I even thought back then that my kids would be much better off without me in their lives then the wreck I was...Needless to say thats not true and I got the help I needed but still its a horrible place to be. I can only imagine the dispair Alice felt in her life, she was such a fighter and had such a hard life, I only hope that she now is in a better place.

Yeah, I hope she's in a better place too. You know, depression is such a sneaky thing. I mean, sure everyone deals with stress differently and deals with it daily. But what frightens me the most about it is that you deal with things for so long, you almost get "numb" to things. And the people who commit suicide, just step over that "white line". We all probably get close to it some time or another....but some just hit that breaking point and either have a breakdown or they commit suicide. I feel the numbness daily really. Sometimes I think....gosh, where did my sense of humor go? Because honestly....hardly anything makes me laugh anymore. I think we get so used to the feeling of our live spiraling downward that we somehow turn off emotions so that we can't feel anything anymore. I know that's where "I" am.

This is very sad.
Being suicidal from depression is not all that easily put as crossing the line, actually.
When you are really down in the pits, you don't even have the strength to carry out the act, no matter how are thinking. It's when you are starting to come out of the rock bottom that is most dangerous, because you still have those thoughts, and now, you have regained just a little strength for you to put those thoughts into action.
If only she had someone close to her who would have noticed the subtle changes and watched out for her.
