Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass  |  Each day is better now. As most of you know I went into have my surgery on Sept 19th. However I didnt make it home until Oct 6th. It feels so good to be home. On surgery day they ran into old ahesions from a old surgery I had back in 1994 with my gall bladder. I have a strange scar from that to say the least. Once they got through them they did my surgery . Things were fine until Friday night when I become really sick. My fever shot up and my breathing became very labored. I was in tremdous pain. After Ct scans didnt reveal anything my surgeon decided to go back in on that Saturday AM. One of the adhesions he took apart to get to my stomach had pooled blood and became infected. Now Im sure there is a medical term to this but Im going by what my hubby told me the surgeon told him because I was out of it. I ended up in ICU from that Saturday until Tuesday Very early am. I dont remember anything a bout that until they went to to pull the breathing tube out. The surgeon told me one of the main reasons he put me in a that state was because my whole body had tensed up into one big nerve. My body had to rest. The hadest part was being awake and not being allowed not even a ice chip. They needed to do a swallowing test and I couldnt tolerate it on my back. They ended up doing it standing up the next day and It went fine. I was scared to say the least. I went through so many we might have to go back in or if your blood drops any more I will transfuse this was after the second one. Im doing good now. Very weak but feeling better and staying awake more each day. My husband has been a Saint throught this. He had to do things for me he never ever thought he would have to do. Like signing for a Central line when all my veins litterally collasped. This was a life saver for me. They could get fluids in medications and blood samples as they needed without sticking me several times to get it. I dont remember them doing it which means I was pretty dam sick. If you asked me right now would I do it again......the answer is still yes. |
