This time i went to my Family Drs office. Since surgery I have periods of shaking that I cant control. After a couple weeks went by out of the hospital I started paying attention to what sets them off. It has to do with Drs appotiments, lab work, or doing or going anywhere I dont really want to go. The Dr thinks I have post tramatic stress disorder. As she set and listend to me talk today she witnessed what my problem was. This bothers me alot considering im gonna go back to work next week and my job is to talk to paitents about surgery. They have put me on a Beta blocker right now which is consistant with treatment at this point to help ease it. I pray this helps me. Me being a nurse and hearing what they was telling me at certian points during my hospital stay was very hard. I understood the BIG words they used and knew what was going on or what could happen. I think it shocked me emotionally somehow and now I have to work through it. I will see her back in a couple of weeks to see if it helps. Pray it does. I had called my surgeon also about the dry heves I have. Right now he wants to wait a bit to see if they become more frequent. I will see him again tuesday for follow up unless I have another episode. |

Hey, I hear you. I am a nurse-turned-medical transcriptionist, nurse for 20+ years, MT for 12 or so years. I remembr many, many, many years ago when my brother was stabbed and in ICU, I wanted to stay with him overnight. My family wondered why I was so upset, after all, I was a nurse and knew what was going on. That was the point! I did know what was going on. Ugh. And when my boyfriend had his heart attack (I had worked in CCU for a number of years)... Now typing all kinds of reports (yes, operative notes, including Roux-en-Y) I not only know what all they do, but I'm intimate with the instruments, sutures, and everything. It is really weird sometimes typing those reports and not really thinking anything of it as it is my job. But it is a little different when it is you. Hope the BBs help and you get back to work just fine - and I certainly will pray that it does. |
