I went shopping today. I ended up at Steve & Barry's because everything in the store is 8.98 and I am cheap  I ran into someone from work. i was never really "friends" with her but I always wished i could be like her. You know the type. Thin, hair and make up always just right, nice sense of style etc. We ended up saying our hello's near the jeans. To my astonishment she wears a 10. I never thought I was smaller than her or even close to her size. All this time i was wishing i could look like her and i'm smaller and there she was saying "six? i wish ". That blew my mind. I just thought I would share...it goes to show you just how warped my sense of my own body image is. i'm a freak

That just had to be such a wonderful feeling for you. I am so happy for you. Did you find some cloths in that store? If so we need somemore pictures of you with them on. You are such an inspiration to me and I love looking at your pictures and everyone elses pictures. That gives me so much hope and knowing that other people that had the same weight problem as I do, lost all the weight and then I know I can do it too. I have much more confidence in me now then I did before and the stories and pictures are a huge inspiration to me.

Our brain doesn't always tell the truth. It adjusts what we see, so we feel *comfortable*. You'd been where you were for a very long time, it takes quite a while to adjust your brains so it sees the correct you. So no, you aren't a freak, you're quite normal. If you can take a group pic with a number of people you know, you probably will be able to get a better perspective of where you are in relation to how others look, which may help you align your perception better. At any rate, you now have a *model* that you can look to for referrence, who's actually a couple of sizes larger than you.  Good going!
