Lightbulb Another 10kg's, to go for plastic surgery!

ok so now I'm being swinging between the 93 and 92kg and the waiting list for the most well known plastic surgeon here in Kuwait is as long as Golden gate bridge! so I put my name 2 months ago and last 5/30 was the big day

I

Met Dr. Nebojsa Rajacic (Consultant Plastic Surgeon) known as Dr. Nicho (I guess he's Western European, he's the guy to the left of the picture) but his experience in Kuwait is not less than 15-18 years because I heard about him long time ago

So..

I went with a picture of me on the day of the BPS weighed ~152kg, almost naked (with the underwear) and told him I was this and now this is me! I'm putting a lot of effort in the GYM and trying to control my food but lately losing is a bit tough with all this hanging skin jumping or kick boxing (especially) the legs are very tough to do any physical movement with the flapping thighs skin takes twice the normal effort!!

when he looked at the picture and then looked at me he said

first

I have to congratulate you! what you've done is tremendous gigantic work! ~60kg's down is a BIG JOB!

Second of all I like the well oriented patients who know and plan for their target! so he asked me how much do you wanna be? I said between 65-70kg

then he said OK when you reach 82kg's you got to come to me to plan for the surgery but before 2 months of the surgery date I highly recommend that you donate 2 pints of your blood, so we avoid complications in the surgery. I don't want your body to refuse strange transported blood, we can avoid all of that

and then we went to examination room and he checked the thighs, hips, butt, under the breast, back, arms, bust area

he said when you reach the 82kg, you'll be almost on your target plus the extra skin! this is when the plastic surgery should come in...

and went to his office

showed me pictures of his previous patients, the results were
he told me that my surgery should be on 2 stages

lower body in one stage and the upper body in other stage. He was very enthusiastic about my case but he warned me that all scars can be invisible except for the arms sometimes the results cannot be always good and showed me an ugly picture of one of his patients the scars were so obvious till her elbows

My husband asked about the costs he said we'll discuss this when she reaches the 82kg (hubby was so pissed off) we need to plan the finance as part of the surgery preparation as well! especially that we are now have so many financial commitments (house renovation, my scholarship, kids school, maybe another baby boy, and the Hajj!) and this surgery! SO I don't know by that time we'll be prepared or not!

I asked him Doc, do you think one day I'll have normal thighs?! he said more than you can imagine! that brought a tear in my eye because my thighs were my worst night mare since I was 12-13 yrs old

we also discussed the possibility of breast transplant, he said look at these similar patients like you I did just the breast firming w/o any implant and the results are not that great! I agreed of course I want mine to be C or D cup! he showed me the silicon stuff! I asked would they effect lactation or maybe associate with breast cancer he said no! if you have BC inherited in your family then you might get it but not because of the silicon implant!

Ahhhh I can't wait to be a normal person with and w/o clothes!

So Q's to DocSanea and Dr. Oliver what do you think of what Dr. Nicho said?!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

CONGRATULATIONS, as the next chapter in your weight loss journey
unravels.

I am so excited that you found doctors you can trust for your work. NOW i know its not my business but i have heard from folks here that a tummy tuck shouldnt be done till your done with future pregnancies...did you run this q by him???? I have heard this by people here in the states......not from personal experience so YOU may want to research this aspect carefully being you have mentioned several times about wanting more children. IM so excited and do keep us
posted as your new chapter with plastics unravels!
hugs

im excited for you. like lisa i wonder if you asked about future pregnancies post plastic surgery. i know here in the us they tell you to wait til you're done having babies ESPECIALLY where tummy tucks are concerned. breast feeding and implants i have never heard anything about. I would think implants would make it uncomfortable being that you will defintiely swell with milk??? ask about having another baby. i would think it will ruin all the hard (expensive) work if you have it after plastic surgery lol.

I was thinking that saline water bags are more the norm these days than silicon? That's what plastic surgeons here use, mostly, and also, transplant fat from other places like the thigh, to the breast, which gets you the most natural results.
I do a lot of routine annual physical check up, part of which includes breast examinations with women, if they choose, and I'll have to tell you, silicon is sooo alien to the touch (old ones are really hard, the newer ones are softer, but still, the difference in touch is obvious), saline bags have a more natural feel but an experienced examiner still can tell, and self fat transplant is virtually impossible to tell.

As for the tummy tuck, if you want another baby, if you have it tucked as much as possible, when you get pregnant, you probably most surely will get stretch marks, because your skin will be too tight to allow room for the growth.

One final warning. Please keep in mind, however much the plastic surgeon is experienced, if he is not experienced with weight loss surgery patients, some of the things he tells you will have to be taken with a grain of salt--just as you have to take weightloss surgery with a grain of salt.
I think most plastic surgeons in the US experienced with WLS patients tell the post ops to wait 6-12 mo after reaching goal so the weight is stabilized, and you also have been able to establish healthy new habits which is most important in keeping the surgery a success.

Thanks girls for sharing me with your views

and yes I agree that if I still think of having more kids then definitely before the plastic surgery! and this is was Dr. Nicho's advice as well! I'm still considering the pregnancy issue! if I want to get pregnant then I want to plan for twins (boys) I don't know if I can plan the number (2 of course!) and the sex. DocSanea do you know if it's feasible?!

if there is a risk to have a 3rd girl then no thanks

I feel so freaked out that I may gain weight with pregnancy I mean I reached a stage that I don't want to back of not even in my worst night mares!

DocSanea yes hubby and I totally agree about the weight stabilization for a log while before the plastics. (but I'm soooo in a hurry I think maybe if I do the surgery this would motivate me to keep it off and feel guilty not to ruin the surgeon's good work!)
Regarding to the breast implant I don't think that he had the saline bags, he has only the silicon ones. Regarding the fat transplant he actually told me that he uses this procedure and he's planning to inject it back in the butt area because with the WL everything has flattened out! (breasts, butt!) but we haven't discussed it on the breast reconstruction!

Now, regarding his experience with WLS patients I guess he has performed plastics on many of them because all the pictures that I saw had the left side under breast incision (for the band or for the bypass) and all had their arms and breasts done! he actually told me for some of them that they are like me! and he offered that I phone one of his Ex-WLS patients as a a support

The problem in Kuwait DocSanea is that we don't have the vast areas of specialization like in the states. He might be a consultant plastic surgeon but not in very fine specialization like WLS plastics. and honestly I don't afford traveling to the states and doing plastics there! in fact many people now travel to Lebanon to do such operations I don't agree with that! what if God forbids something wrong happen?! I want to be near my family at least at the last few goodbye minutes!

Thanks all
Hanadi

SOUNDS like your well thought thru!
BUT i guess only you can decide if your haveing
another child. I know threw fertility speicialists
they can favor the sex of a child but of course its
high tech, expensive and against some religions im sure
cause its done with fertilzeing things in a petri dish and putting
them back inside the female...INVITRO fertiliization, of course thats costly. OF course its a roll of the dice naturally which sex you will
get 50/50 i guess.
ONLY u and your hubby proly can choose that.

I am sure your well thought thru but dont rush things just because
you think it will help keep you thin. ONLY GOOD eating habits will do that and the right mind set no matter what.
AND trust me being two years out its not always easy.

Thanks Lisa,

well I'm not really sure if planning the number of twins or their sexes may conflict with Islam, but thanks for reminding me I should investigate! I know many committed friends of mine (Actually my friend Maha the mom of the triplets) she's one of them and she has used medication to increase her fertility and she did even the insemination things but I can see how Islam won't mind her case because the poor things waited for maybe 12 years to get pregnant!! but for my case I have no excuse I get pregnant w/o a problem but hubby wants a boy! he BROKE my heart the other day when he came from his friend's daddy's funereal and said: who will bury my under the ground if I don't have a son?! our driver? to have a son is very critical in our culture I mean literally if there is no son then the name of my husband will vanish away because girls don't give their family names to their kids!

eekhhh! I guess I'm in a battle with time! I want to lose weight, become healthy/sexy, have a great body! have kids, become the best wife and mom all at the same time!! ohh Gosh I feel dizzy now hehehehe

H.

Well, with the advance in medicine, we are seeing many women who have children in their 40s. My grandmother on my mother's side gave birth to her last child, a son, when she was 43. So, you still have plenty of time, Hanadi. Take things on one at a time, that's the best way to ensure success with everything you do.
