Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hi.
Well, since I started this journey, I had the negatives of surgery in the back of my mind. From extra skin to loss of hair.
My final thoughts about this that I think I've come to terms with is that if I do have saggy skin or hair loss at least I'm ALIVE and HEALTHY with saggy skin and no hair!! There is so much to live for besides worrying about these negative issues.
Keep your spirit up either way, YOU DESERVE IT!

I gess in my case I looked at the bigger picture.

At 27 years old I could have some saggy skin and some hair lose and loving the fact that I can finally enjoy my life. Thats why they make girdles and Wigs( I have not had to use these things)

Or be a 27 year old Heart attack victim or even worse Dead or walking around a walking time bomb ready to explode at any time.

In my case poor on the saggy skin and fluff up my thinning hair I can truly say im loving life these days and thats a first in my life saggy skin and all.

I guess in the end it comes down to whats really more important to you I did this surgery to give me a new healthy life not to make me beautiful thats just the added bonus but in the end I was always beautiful.

this is not meant to be taken in a negative way these are just my thoughts

Everyone is different. Alot of the elasticity in our skin is genetic . You can exercise and try to tone as much as possible but it does not rid you of saggy skin if that is what you are prone to.

As said above, this is a journey about getting healthy. However it is understandable to be concerned of the mental effects it has on us as well. Many over look mental health issues when focusing on physical health. It does take a toll on us mentally this journey. This is why support groups, friends who have experienced this same thing and therapy in some cases is very important to the complete package this surgery brings. Looking in the mirror and seeing everything shift downward is not an easy thing. For some its ok, for others it is devestating to see. The is why the mental preperation prior to surgery is as much as important as post surgery. Hang in there and keep asking questions and researching. We are here for you.

I didn't think mine was too bad at first....but the closer I get to 100 pounds lost..the saggier I get!!! I'm contemplating all kinds of plastics right now....but won't do anything about it for a while....and I may just wind up getting a tummy tuck and my arms done....

i agree this journey is about being healthy and the rest comes along with it, if it bothers you you can check in to tummy tuck and such when you are ready, just dont worry to much it will all work itself out..

I look like I have elephant skin. And I will have PS when I am able. But like all are saying, it's your decision. Little Lisa Marie really hit the nail on the head when she talked about the mental journey we must all go through. It's good that we have each other to bounce things off of!

Alot of it is genetics. I have some loose skin but not saggy. I am surprised at now it is tightening up. I am using some firming lotions (Dove) and I think it is helping. My mother lost alot of weight 5 years ago (about 70 lbs) and she is 17 years older than me. She doesn't have saggy skin from the weight loss, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that I have that part of her genetics.
