Default Met with 2nd PS Surgeon today..

I think I've found my PS surgeon...he was a trip....

bad part, he doesn't think insurance will cover any of it..

GOOD PART...he will do the FULL tummy tuck (more than the panni skin removal), the breast lift (WITH IMPLANT), hospital...everything included, AND BREAST LIFT...for $13k. He's also DYING to do my legs & arms later down the road...he said he can't WAIT to get at my legs LOL ....

I have to figure out if we can swing it financially....it's a double edged sword...I'd love to address this while I'm out of work and have the time...but being out of work means financially, I don't need to bite off this expense right now....

I got excited...then cried all the way home....as I don't feel right about it...it's NOT necessary, yet it would make a world of difference...but ONLY TO ME.....

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

13K is a steal of a deal. I might have to take a trip down your way!! I got estimates of 19K for breast lift and tummy tuck. I need inner thighs to but....boobs and tummy are most important to me. I hear what your saying on it only being important to you. My husband says I don't need it that I am fine the way I am....he also said I was fine at 310lbs....LOL....I told him I don't trust his opinion...LOL!! Sometimes you gotta do what makes you happy and makes you feel good BUT finances are a different story. I was selfpay for the surgery and feel very selfish spending all this money on myself. I am planning to hold off for now. 13K...thats tempting though especially if you like the doc. Kath you might be a size zero when all is said and done!!

That's a tough one. It is tempting and a good price! You only live once and you can't take it with you. Good luck in your decision!

Thats about what mine was....with pre-op testing. I think I paid 17K for the actual surgery and about 2K for pre-op blood work, sono's, x-ray's. Thats what I mean though....19K+13K...I just feel so selfish. Thats alot of money. But I like what Denise said....you can't take it with you That made me feel a little better!!

Kath, you said it only matters to you. Well you are the one that matters! If you wake up every morning thinking I wish I could have this done, than I say do it. Being out of work is a tough one, but there are ways to save it you are determined.

Kath,
I don't think you are being selfish at all. A person's feeling of self worth affects them both mentally and physically, if you really don't like your self then it's going to affect you. My friend who had bypass about 8 years ago still regrets that she didn't do PS afterwards and is still embarrassed about her hanging skin. It's a great price too. Do it!

I agree with Barbie, I don't think you're being selfish at all. If it makes you feel better overall, mentally, physically, etc., then it's all worth it. Your well being affects everyone that you come in contact with. That's a benefit to everyone.

Shannon, I wish I could go have mine done too. I meet with my surgeon for a checkup on Tuesday. He told me last time I was there that we would discuss it next time I come in.
