Default Hernia Repair Update

I have been on a couple of times talking about my "friend" on my abdomen. I went for my consult this morning with the surgeon and it's not exactly what I thought. Its a spigelian hernia. It's up higher than a bikini incision ~ one more abdominal scar to add to my collection ~ and is much less traumatic sounding than what I thought I was getting. I'm actually fine with no tummy tuck ~ I can't afford it, can't really afford to be out of work, don't really have that kind of sick/vacation time, and really don't want to go thru another major surgery right now. So, all in all, I'm really thankful! Have a great weekend.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Glad they finally figured it out. Is he going to do surgery on it then? I had one on my belly button, it wasn't so bad. Just couldn't lift anything over 10 lbs for a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the update.

I've had an umbilical and an inguinal hernia, so I now have a couple of sections of nylon reinforcement in my belly. I think the umbilical was worse. I know I took more time off work for it, but my job at that time required lots of travel, and I couldn't get my computer bag into the overhead compartment.

She said I'd be out for a couple of weeks and that's fine ~ I'm up and down and moving some but nothing major and I can adapt to no lifting at work especially so that'll work fine. I didn't realize it was bugging me (not knowing what to expect) until I realized how much relief I felt when she gave me the info on what to expect. Thx everyone

Anything else they can take out or put in while you're under? Spleen, kidney, gall bladder? Might as well go for a quantity discount!!

clancy - glad that you got the information you need and having this taken care of. it's a shame that while they are at it they couldn't throw in a tummy tuck ~ let us know when you are having this done
