Wishing you the best of luck and a speedy recovery! Thanks for sharing the cost-I am considering getting my arms done, and it helps to know the cost of the whole package! Let us know how you're doing.

I hope you have a speedy recovery. For me the first 4-5 days were rough, just like after bypass, but then I started feeling much better.
I got one of those toilet risers at CVS for around $20, I think Walmart has them too. THey look like the white plastic seat tops that we use to potty train children, but they're bigger. That way you don't have to use tummy muscles to get up.
Get some alcohol swabs for draining the drains. They show you to just pull along the tubing with your fingers but that pulls the tubing a lot. If you wrap a fresh alcohol swab around the tubing and pull down using that it slides a lot easier - less pull.
I found that wearing sweat pants with pockets worked best for me. I just put the drains in the pockets. Some people try pinning them to the binder. One thing you don't want to do is let those puppies swing loose as you stand up from the toilet - can we say OUCH!
Lots of pillows to prop your legs up. I bought a body pillow at Target for around $20 and loved it. I could squish it into whatever position I needed.
Take your pain medicine regularly. I truely believe that you need to keep the pain under control to heal. If your body is fighting pain it just adds more strain. And don't forget stool softeners. I took several a day (some people say to take one with every pain pill but I was afraid I would end up with diareaha).
Double your protein. Your body needs protein to heal.
I used cocoa butter on the scars after the first week. Maybe it worked, maybe it was just the masaging that worked, but my scars are very fine and already fading and I have most of the feeling back already (I'm not quite 3 months out). If you didn't know, you are going to have some numb areas due to the cutting of nerves.
I didn't get the arms done, but I've read where other people suggest you get one of those reaching sticks so you can pick things up off the floor without bending.
Wear a soft T-shirt or muscle shirt under the binder, it so helps to keep it from pinching your skin. You'll need several at first because the drains and wounds can seep and make messes. Some people suggest using Kotex pads around the drains to keep the binder off of them. Mine were located so low that the binder didn't touch them so I wasted money on buying pads that I won't need (post-menopausal LOL).
That's all I can think of. Good luck and speedy recovery.

Yeah...good luck! One of the strangest things in the world after the TT is taking a shower and not having to LIFT anything up to clean!!!!!
You are a week away...you are gonna get really nervous now....don't be! There is nothing to it! One thing I can say is that if you have a nausea problem with anesthesia, ask about a patch behind the ear. THey did that for me on my revision and I never even gagged on this surgery! WHOA!! Also, if you can rent a hospital bed for a month to make the transition eaiser, I HIGHLY suggest that! It was so much easier to get flatter and flatter everyday. I think that I had to stay reclined for 4 weeks...I guess it depends on how tight the doc gets you. Good Luck girl, I wish you a speedyyyyyyyyyyyy recovery!!!

oh...just read this post...sorry so behind. I had open RNY and lapo gall bladder removal. My gall bladder was worse then the open. That gas they fill you with made me sore from my shoulders to my hips. It was the worst. Your cosmetic will be nothing like that. Just had a thought...my doc did this for me....your pain pump holds 3 days of meds. Ask if they can fill it before you leave the hospital. You will have gone through one day with that. So then you really get 4. Once the pain pump came out I was through the worst I suppose because I didn't have much pain. Your surgery will not feel like the discomfort from laproscopic. You mainly will just feel stiff...now I don't know about the arms. But with boobs and LBL I was just stiff feeling and when you stand up it feels like pressure. You will have no feeling from your belly button to your upper thighs for months. They cut all the nerve endings so it really helps with not feeling anything!! I think the muscle repair in the stomach just hurts like doing to many sit ups....its uncomfortable but not unbarable. I am telling you.....you will be so into checking out the new you and peeking at whats under your surgery garmets that the pain will be the last thing on your mind. I was so shocked I could not stop checking out the results. You will do great....I am telling you!! Oh...and the WLS is also difficult because you had to worry about what to eat what not to eat...battling the head hunger....feeling nausas from starvation (I felt sick every morning for 2 weeks after WLS)....you will be able to eat normal after PS. Its not such a mind trip. When you look in the mirror and see the new body it will be better then winning the lottery....trust me!!! I can't wait for your date!! I am so happy this all worked out for you. If you have any questions post op or need someone to talk to....PM me and I will give you my number.

oh yes...and like Barbie said get some t-shirts for under the binder. I used hubby's. But you can get those white ribbed tanks. Make sure they fit snug because if the fabric bunches under the binder it will not be comfortable. I made that mistake. I felt a burning raw feeling under the binder and kept pointing to the spot I felt it and had hubby check it out. He kept saying he didn't see anything there. Then went to the doctors and she was removing a few stitches. I was watching her remove one very close to my pubic line and it felt like she was touching my belly button. Your sense of feeling will be very off. I did have some skin rub raw from my bunched up t-shirt and it was about 6 inches away from where I was pointing...LOL!!

Thank you Shannon and Barbie for the tips! I have my list of things to pick up at Walgreens today and a list of what to ask the Dr. this week!
As of today, I am strangely calm- but that can change minute to minute. I edited the amount as it went up $500....hospital fees went up.
Other than that I think I am ready- I just want to be done pulling on extra skin it's so gross. And the wrinkled look is SO out!
