well if i can get all my documentation on my rashes under my belly and the hospital approves the surgery as non cosmetic, then the surgery is on. if not i don't know what we will do. we can take the money out of our grandkids college fund and pay back 1000 permonth. the tt will be done as the sme time as a hernia repair so the hospital will split out the cost of the two. does anybody know how much will be the tt part for the hospital? i would appreciate some advice. also, should i go ahead and by a compression garment to take with me to the hospital. i found one that goes up to the breast and down to the knees. my hernia is just below my breast and is huge. what do you think? vick

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

OK first of all ask the surgeon doing the surgery if they provide the binder for you. I think you will find your gonna wake up with one on you already. I could be wrong on this but I would certinaly think so espcially because of the hernia.

I have no idea what type of insurance you have but since you have a hernia they should pay for the TT to be done because of it. There shouldnt even have to be a split on that one? Since you have all the documentation and especially since you have the hernia it should come in as one surgery. Make your your surgeon is not trying to pull your string so to say.

well the insurance wont ALWAYS cover the tt after hernia unless they have to dig up her abdomen to get to it...in which case it MIGHT be considered reconstruction, and even then if her ins doesnt cover it, it just wont be covered. depends on the ins just like for the bypass. def try to get them to pay for it before paying for it yourself. it cant hurt. either way i envy you lol.

def ask for a binder if dont have one on when you wake up

Your right but from where she stated the postion is of the hernia it should I ( in my own opinion) pay. Even back pain needs to be noted also . It counts just like the rashes.

You know mine being Tricare which is goverment based insurance, they will pay for skin removal if you have documented rashes hernias etc. Even if the breast is what they call malformed after weight loss or even breast reduction. Honestly Medicare pays better than Tricare does . I know it does looking at Mikes bills now that come in since he got his SS Disability approved he was placed on Medicare which pays first and it pays more than Tricare ever did. And will cover more.
