| I got my tummy tuck surgery date yay!!!!
I did great on all my tests and I set up my tummy tuck surgery this morning with the doctor in Bismarck today. My surgery is going to be on Oct. 5th. Next week Tuesday I have to go and get all my paper work done for the surgery on Oct. 5th. I am so excited and at the same time scared. I think I am more scared of the pain I might have after surgery. Those who have had tummy tucks, you have any advise on anything that you think that will help me threw it all. I do have an adjustable bed, so I am good there. I have just about everything out of my garden so that I can concentrate on getting things ready for surgery. I want to get my house in tip top shape, so that I do not have to worry about getting anything done around the house and hope I have my toamtoes canned up by that time. Hubby wants to get all outside work done so that he can take care of me without worrying about anything outside that needs to get done. I cannot wait to have a flat tummy, I have never in my life ever had a flat tummy even when I was thin for a few years just before I got married. I weight 160 at that time and still had a good sized tummy on me. It will feel so good not to have to lift that big tummy out of the way to shower myself and not the sweating I will have under the tummy. Tell me the differences now compared to before your tummy tuck.

Sorry I missed this since I haven't been on in a while...
CONGRATS!!!
If you don't mind me asking, is the insurance paying for it??
I have been thinking about it, but not sure where to start, I guess my PCP?? Or do I go to my WLS surgeon???
Let me know...I'll keep up on this one, & keep us posted on all the process.

Thank you all, Amina I am selfpay for the gastric bypass and also the tummy tuck. I have no insurance. I first asked around about plastic surgery and if they like it and where they had it done and then I started to get phone numbers of the best doctor that I thought would be right for me and that is how I got to where I am today with the doctor. In Spring I had a consultation with the doctor that is going to do my tummy tuck and was pleased with what he had said to me and is very trough with everything before he does my tummy tuck, had to go threw alot of tests to get to where I am today. I have so much to do to get ready for that day and time flys by so fast. The 5th will be here before I know it.

Yay! Diana, that is great! I am sure that you will be fine, but I have heard that the ps is harder than the bypass from the couple of people I know that have had it. But, those two people both say they would do it again because of the end result!
Keep us posted. I'm so happy for you. That will be so nice to have all that "extra" skin gone. Think of how much better your clothes will fit....sweet!
How many overnights at the hosp does a tummy tuck entail?
Hugs to you!
salli lou

The doctor told me that I will not stay at the hospitol after surgery and I have to stay at a motel in Bismarck the first night after surgery just in case I need to go to the hospitol. He told me the reason why they do not like to have people in the hospitol after plastic surgery is becasue of staff infection. He also told me that he does not like to have the drain tubes in a person no more than four days if possible. I will find out more on tues.
