| Been awhile
Hi Everyone,
Its been awhile, doing very well here, maintaining weight loss, feeling so good, but decided to see if the Insurance company would pay for a panniculectomy, so I made my appointment with a plastic surgeon I had heard and seen some great work he did on his website. With the consultation he suspected a ventral hernia also, his office sent in the pictures with the rashes etc. and the letter for the surgery and low and behold the insurance comapany accepted it right off the bat! So off I went to see the general surgeon the plastics doc likes to do surgery with and after a CT scan and 2 visits with him. I am having my panniculectomy and a ventral hernia repair on Wednesday morning, the Plastics Doc says maybe about 10 - 12 lbs of skin, fat removal, no amount of ab crunches have helped, I was so shocked as to the insurance company accepting it on the first try! Ecstatic to say the least, with all the tests and waiting for the Docs to get to me on the same day its been not quite 2 months, kind of feels like a whirlwind! But feeling a little anxiety and excitement about wednesday too. I guess by the sounds of things I will loose my belly button, just a small loss to say the least to get this removed! I still would like to get my arms done some day but I will wait on that one for a while. Before I started looking for a Plastics Doc, Kim's pictures made me persue this endeavor, thank you Kim for posting them and how wonderful yours had turned out even with some of the problems you had, it looks beautiful! I have been on the past week or so to catch up on the posts etc. Hugs to all and everyone is looking so wonderful! And Hi to all the newcomers! Good luck Diana on yours, I see is coming up real soon too!!

This is great news for sure! My hubby is not pressuring me to have a panni but..... I can tell he would like for me to have one. I dont know I told him let me take care of the seizures first then I might think about the panni later. Sigh......

Woo hoo!! Ask them again about the belly button. Usually what they do is cut a circle around it, pull the skin down, and then cut a new hole and pull the old belly button through and sew it in place.
If they don't think they can save the old belly button they can create a new one. Just let them know that you would really like to have a belly button (if that's true) and they'll make it happen.
