| Appointment with a PS
I have an appt. with Dr. J. LaMonaco on Friday. I'm looking to get a lower body lift, brachioplasty, and breast lift/augmentation. He is the Dr. from Big Medicine on TLC. I'm both nervous and excited!
This is my first consultation. Any advice? I've done tons of research, my DH has too.
Has anyone else had any PS stuff done? (Plastic surgery)
I could use a neck lift too, but that can wait til later.

Oh wow! Good for you. Is he in Texas? I thought he was in CA.
I've had a TT and breast augmentation without a lift. I'm actually in the planning stages to go talk to a PS about getting a thigh lift and butt lift next.

Oh, lucky you, he is a cutie and seems like he would be a lot of fun to be around.
Tell him he has a groupie in Ohio.
Wish I could afford to have full PS once the surgery is over and weight gone but the best I will be able to get is a pannulectomy (or however it is spelled).

Hey there, I love those folks down there. I met the psychotherapist Mary Jo wen I was assisting sales down there. She is a real gem.
Best of luck.

UGH! Just got a call from his office and they are trying to reschedule me. ): Turns out they have a schedule conflict. Um, that's not my fault. I made this appt. during spring break on my DH's day off. This is the best time for me. It may be months before I could reschedule. I'm so aggravated!

I'm so sorry. I know how exciting it is to plan on getting this surgery and how disappointed you are feeling. I know you don't want to hear it but the longer you wait the better. They are going to want you to be at a stable weight, and many PS require that you be 2 years out. The main reason is our malabsorption issue. You've just spent a year depriving your body of food and using up all your stores. Your body will eventually get better at absorbing food, but at the one year mark it's probably not adapted well yet. You're going to need a lot of nutrients to heal, especially if you get all the things done that you want done.
They also don't like to do all these procedures at the same time. Think about it, you use your stomach muscles to stand up. If they suture your stomach muscles then you are going ot use your arms to stand. If they do your arms too, then how are you going to get out of a chair?
My advice is to wait as long as you can stand it. Having said that, I have to admit that I had my surgery at 18 months - that's as long as I could wait. LOL

Well, they called me back this morning. I am rescheduled. They moved me to 11am instead of noon. (: I can live with that.
@not quite Barbie: I don't take my vitamins or drink my protein like I should. However, all of my levels (except B-12) were fantastic in January. My weight hasn't moved much since December. Although I would still like to lose 20-30 pounds. I am working on it, but I think school stress is keeping me from being successful. Now that the hardest part of this semester is over I think that will change.
I wouldn't be able to have the surgery til May or June anyways. So I think I'll be okay by then. That put's me 16+ mo. out. And I am going nuts with the droopy boobs and skin thing! (: Thanks for the advice.

It's all your fault....
I've been thinking about scheduling my next round of plastics and your thread got me to get off my butt and call them. I've got my appointment on March 26th to discuss thigh lift, butt lift and maybe some eye work.
Dr. LoMonaco co-authored a book with my surgeon Dr. Mitchell Kreiger. I think my guy is the east coast version of LoMonaco - being an expert in plaxtics on WLS people.
Keep me posted on what you find out at your appointment. I'm excited for you!
