Default 11 days after Lower Body Lift (LBL)

So here's what I look like just 11 days after surgery. There's still some swelling and I'm not quite standing straight yet, but I can't tell you how happy I am with the results.

I've been struggling with my body image since my weight loss. I haven't been able to see myself as skinny, even though my mind knows that 125 pounds is an incredibly low weight for me. I would still avoid mirrors and when I did look, all I could see was how fat my butt and thighs looked. I just couldn't see myself as thin. Well, now I can!

Back B4.JPGBack After2.JPG

Front B4.JPGFront After2.JPG

Sorry, I can't rotate the pics because they get all squatty and don't look like the real me so you'll just have to rotate your monitor.

It doesn't look like it, but the PS took a 9" wide strip of skin off my back, narrowing down as he came around my sides to about 4" off my tummy (which was already tucked once). He did an auto-augmentation of my butt, which means he pealed the skin away from the underlying tissue on the backside, then turned the tissue down to give me some padding in the butt area. Usually they just remove the tissue too, but I had so little fat left that he took the extra time to do this to help me keep some booty. He did not do any liposuction, and he tightened the ab muscles. There's still a lot of swelling on my tummy in this pic but you can see the abs starting to show already. I've lost 4 pounds since the surgery, probably a couple from skin and a couple from not eating as much as normal. It cost $11,200 for everything, including hospital stay, anesthesia and OR costs.

I'm totally thrilled with how I look now, even tho I still have saggy arms and inner thighs, I believe I am done with Plastics! Yayyyyyy.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I won't lie, the pain is a whole lot worse than the lap RNY and the worst part is that there's just no comfortable position. Laying on my back with pillows under my legs was about the best postion and that was still painful. For the first time ever I went through the entire prescription for pain medications.

I needed DHs help to get in and out of bed for the first few days but after that I was able to do it myself - very, very slowly. He had to help me with everything for the first two days, and it's a good thing he fed me or I wouldn't have eaten.

Week one was really tough, week two I could see improvements every day, and now in week three I am finally getting back to normal, except I get tired quickly. Still waking up from pain when I try to turn over in my sleep but it just stings now and I fall right back to sleep.

It was still worth it to me, the pain, the cost, everything. My only regret was going to the wrong PS in the beginning to try to save a few bucks. Make sure your PS knows about WLS patients!
