Angry a little update on my PS

well i was doing quite well early on except for a pesky fever the first few days ...well now i have been going in to the Dr 2 times a week to have dressing changed , one small part on the tailbone got infected and isnt healing....so i am now on my 3rd different kind of antibiotic in 3 weeks and one week ago the PS had to debride some skin and re-stich the area , so here i sit getting very annoyed....Dr will not let me return to work and all these antibiotics scares me that i will develop a resistant bug. so please keep me in your prayers ......i in NO WAY regret having the PS done it just isnt healing as fast as i thought it would. i thought i would be back at work 2 weeks after surgery it has been since the 5th of jan and still not back to work........well enough of my pity party thanks for listening.

much love
mary

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Heya. Gosh. Def deserve a pity party!! If you take your anti-biotics fully, you should be ok. BUT, did you read my posts in judst (?) thread about mrsa? Alot of the community have it and dont know. Have they taken a sample to be tested to make sure you are on the right anti-biotics? It takes a few days to get results as they basically, take a sample, grow it and then squirt anti-b's at different samples of what grew. the ones that die are the right anti-b's for that bug. If they havent done so, I would suggest you get them to do it, as a 3rd lot of anti-b's is a bit much (??). As we dont absorb things properly, (I found this with meds, some work faster, some dont much at all now), you might want to ask about IV or liquid anti-b's. I get the liquid nowadays so it can get digested (melt in, whatever) quicker.

I hope this lot clear it up! Must be very uncomfy for you (understatement?!)

*hugs*

Its ok honey. Its kinda common to have this after PS. I know Kim had alot of issues each time she had somthing done. I know about taking antibotics and having to have them changed. Are they having to pack the area now? If so you know what im talking about. If not then you wont know so dont worry about me asking it. The MRSA Lee Lee is talking about is a more common thing now. Im sure they would have given you buy now the one antibotic that ill knock it out if it was gonna be a problem. I can spot that stuff a mile away now after working in Peds. It acutally comes up looking very harmless and when they would catch it is when they would be brought in to look at somthing else and we could would see it then. I think you will be ok honey. I know the debriding isnt a nice thing to put up with but its to keep the scaring down. I watched them do this to many faces while I worked in ENT for years and it really does do the job in the end honey. You will be just fine. Try to smile and know its gonna be worth it in the end. Just do as your told and keep on top of things and keep in close contact with them if you have any questions ok. Thanks for the update.

You are one of my heros on this site. Our stats are similar and I have imagined I might look like you when I get to the other side of this journey. Praying that healing will be complete soon!!

Aw. (((HUGS))) Hope it gets well soon.
In the meanwhile, if you can, as lee-lee says, testing the bug for med resistance may help the surgeon make the best choice.
