Thumbs up Well im doing it..

I talked to PS and he said go for it, my insurance approved it. I did decide not to get the 360 body lift the ps said it would probably be a longer recovery and the back skin was not that bad. Also i had a back surgery two years ago and he said i could have a problem with the skin in that part since its so thin and stretched now. So im just getting the tummy tuck and its all set up for this weds, i cant wait. Ive got to go get some pants to wear home the ones i have not are only staying up cause of the skin. SO wish me luck i will post some before and after pics when i get home

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

That's wonderful! What insurance do you have? Did they approve it because the excess skin is causing you problems?

I have blue cross and yes it got approved because of extra skin, i had to have three months of dr care trying to treat it for rashes and broken skin. And that did nt work so they said cut it off .

Good luck. I wonder how much skin they will remove. Will you take/share before and after pics? If not, I understand - just curious. Hope that recovery is easy.

so i was wondering of everyone who has had plastic surgery after wls. my surgeon who did wls said he can and will do the tummy and arms for me and can get it approved...so do you all think it important that only a plastic surgeon do these things or are we ok in these areas with a regular surgeon? opinions please I have been very blessed that face and neck are not saggy just belly and arms well behind of course but worry about that later and legs.

The larger the amount of reconstructive surgery you need, the better it is with a PS experienced with WLS patients. It's not just about lopping off the extra skin, it's going to be also about reconstructing the muscle layer that supports the skin, which also has stretched out with the stretched skin. The larger the area that needs to be dealt with, the more important this is going to be.
