Hello Everyone:
I went for my plastics consult yesterday. I went to see about an inner thigh lift. He suggested I get a belt Lipecotomy first. It does the waist, outter thigh area and the butt. That is $11,453.00 for everything. The inner thigh lift is 5,660.00 for everything. I would probaly drop 2 sizes getting everything. Just getting one I would be in a size 10. The doctor said insurance probably does not cover any of it. I went to talk to the insurance specialist, she called them and they told her I did not need prior authorization cause it was due gastric bypass. She asked how much they would pay, they told her 100%. She said the doctor wants her to get something in writing, because she did not believe it. So hopefully in October belt lipecotomy. He said the inner thigh lift is the worst to recover from. I am scared. But we will see. Any questions, ya can pm me. Luv u all.

How exciting!
I've read that it's ideal to wait a year after youhit goal weight, since your body still adjusts. Did your doctor mention anything like this? My husband keeps telling me that, no matter the cost, we'll look into plastics once I'm at a weight I'm happy with. I'm wondering how long I have to wait and save. lol

That is great your insurance is covering all that most do not do anything.
I was also told to wait at least 6 months to a yr after goal wight to get any plastics done.

Wow, who do you have for insurance? I had to pay for the whole thing. Haven't had the inner thighs done, just too expensive on top of the $20k I've already spent.

YEAH who is your insurance company?
I got an approval letter for surgery along with a letter explaining the likelihood of "sagging skin" after weight loss for which the ins co would NOT NOT NOT be responsible.
(I am not against asking when the time comes.)

Good luck to you. Hope the insurance lady is correct. Getting it in writing is a very good idea. My TT/Lower body lift was 12500.00.
Wouldve loved it more if insurance paid. But it WAS def worth the $$$

I would have the belt lictomey and it is 11,500. I have champ va, not tri-care through the military. They paid 100% of my gastric bypass, I paid nothing. I didnt have to wait months. The insurance people said i met my catastropic cap so I would be 100%. They are suppose to call monday or friday.

My insurance has already said they will pay for a panni and a semi-breast lift. What I'm sure I'm going to want is the upper arm reduction. So far my thighs and legs are looking pretty good; hope they stay that way!!

We will have to talk more tomorrow at lunch, I saw my doctor yesterday and she ordered a cream for break down under my stomach and from my breast to my back. She told me to have the primary doctor to document these break downs for plastic surgery later. I'm behind you, maybe a long way behind but behind. Congrats, you deserve it. HUGS.
