Yep. That was me lisa. i think one of my FIRST posts when i joined. I was talking about skin and stretch marks. (You look great by the way )I still feel the same way. I truly believe that if you are not doing this for cosmetic reasons, its ok to be flabby. Everyone has their own preference, but FOR ME, as long as my boobs to hang all the way down to my knee caps (he he he), and i am healthy and happy in mind, body and spirit, why go under the knife again???? just my opinion.

You have to be happy with who you are and comfortable with your reasons for doing this. Like doc says, if its for cosmetics you might be a little disappointed. but if its for improvement of health by all means...

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Awww thanks KENYA but its all in the clothes and the undergarments
that make my body look so good.....
I actually was all chubby/fat so i guess thats some of the reason i am
okay with the little bit of a tummy roll that im left with.....
I am healthy and thats what matters most to me!!!
and i know at the current weight i know will be around a long
time for my kids as long as no other health things arise!

YEAH would you believe even though the scale is well under 200 i still
feel the same.........but i just dont get outta breath as easily!
SO my eyes and brain still dont get it that im much thinner

Hi and welcome to the board! I started with my highest being 404, lost some weight by the time I did the pre-op fast I was at 385, Now I am around (can only give estimates because I don't weigh at home at all) 320 pounds.

Personally if I look good in clothes I won't worry about the skin. BTW, I am divorced so, single here!

I am with you on that one lisa..I think too the same way in a lot of ways about not forgetting where I came from, you know? I do understand that not everyone seems to need to remember that they were once obese & I've met a lot of gals in person who are that way about their WLS, they want to forget that person they'd been before the surgery.. but man..I don't want to forget where I came from body-wise. Otherwise it negates the path that has been full of wonderful changes that didn't happen over night. Ones that have forged the way for massive change, new found strength and the incredible discovery of who I was hidden deep inside.

As far as excess skin and stretch marks go for me, I have stretch marks from my 2 babies (now age 16 and 4). My tummy sags but I can live with it. I do hope to have a tummy tuck eventually only to fit clothes properly and to avoid the occasional infections I seem to get in my belly button and a larger stretch mark that I have. I wear a size 6 now, and a 4 fits but I don't feel comfortable in the tummy area. In the rear and legs a 4 fits best, but a 6 makes me feel like I'm not being stuffed into my clothes in the tummy area.
I do have slight sag in my legs, rear, and arms. The more toned I get, the better they look. I'd never have them surgically altered because imo they look and feel fine. Thankfully my breasts, although significantly smaller, have held up fine.
Lastly, don't let skin keep you from losing the weight you need to get healthy and active. Good luck and take care. Amy

I will be honest.......The only part i worry about sagging to much is my stomach. It hangs already. But i will live it with knowing im not dying anymore after I have this done!

I will probally after its done and I mainatain a level they seem deamable look into getting the stomach skin taken off ONLY if my insurance pays for it.

Here is another look at the skin i was left with......Now i will show you what a tt made it look like.

I didnt choose to have the tt however a tumor was discovered in my abdomen that required reconstruction so I lucked out....look at the difference.
