Default Big Day - Starting 2 Week Pre Op Diet

Today, Is My Big Day..... Starting The Pre Op Diet!!!!!! I Never Thought I'd Get This Far! Hardest Thing Is Being On A Diet! Shopping For The Items That I Need To Have...going Into The Store And Not Buying Chocolate! When I Have The Surgery.... I Know It Will Be Easier, Because My Head And Body Will Work Together, Knowing That I Can't Eat Certain Things Because It Will Make Me Feel Sick... And To Prevent That, I Will Have To Behave!!! Now, I Know I Still Have 14 Days Of My Old Stomach And It Is Hard To Make Myself Realize That I Have To Do This.....please Pray For Me... I Can't Do It Alone..... Surgery Date Is 03-03-08 Please Stay In Contact, I Will Be On Here A Lot And Need All Of Your Support... Thanks, Gina....

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Default I feel your pain

Hi, I started my pre-op diet yesterday. Well I had been following it pretty close since Jan. 22nd. I think that made it easier when it came time to follow it to the letter. My surgery is also March 3rd. I have done an educational meeting, my pre-op lab work, and just have a final meeting with the surgeon before surgery on the 27th. I have bought what they recommend. Which is a food processor, digital kitchen scale, baby spoons, also all the vitamins, fiber, and the things to pack for the hospital. I am so ready, now its just getting the house in order. I think the hardest thing is cooking for others, when you can't eat what they are having. What kind of pre-op diet are you on, is it all liquids? You will do fine, don't be too hard on yourself.

Good luck on your pre-op diet! I am sure you'll do fine. If it is an all liquid diet, may the force be with you Just think 2 weeks from now you'll begin your journey and have a seat on the losers bench (Yay you!). Try not to think about it too much and it will fly....

If you have an all liquid diet for 2 weeks, I agree, may The Force Be With You! You can do this, but I do have to admit that being on the liquid diet has been difficult for me. But, I am getting through it and so will you, in fact there are several people that have been on an all liquid diet for several months! WOW!!

buy fat free, low sodium broths, I have had a little swelling from the sodium on the broth and have taken everyone's advice to buy the low sodium.

the 2 weeks will go fast...good luck and happy dieting!

ps> once you get past the first 3 days, it gets easier.

Best BEST wishes for you! I start mine next tuesday, so you are a week ahead. my surgery is the 11th.
I have a few optifast shakes left from late last year, so am starting to incorporate them into my diet this week to ease into the pre-op diet next week.. haha argh! just think, in 2 weeks, you will be on the bench with all these other lovelies, giving sage advise to those of us not far behind you! Good Luck, and others have said: May the Force be with You!!

You're on your way, congrats!!
The first few days will be the most difficult, it should start getting easier after the first 3 days.
