Default Steps after insurance approval?

Hey all,

Ok so I haven't been approved by my insurance yet, but I'm staying optimistic. I'm curious what the general steps are after being approved until the actual surgery. Is it pretty much standard or does it depend on the surgeon's requirements? I know from my research that there are a lot of tests that need to be done prior to surgery so I'm just kinda looking for a feel of what to expect and how long it takes from the time you're approved by insurance till the actual surgery.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

WELL SLOOPY i would think this depends on the protocal of your surgeons office. FOR me once i had insurance approval and if i met my surgeons
PRE OP WEIGHT LOSS requirement he books your date.
I did all my preoperative clearances before insurance submittal
so that was all done and had the green light for surgery.
I imagine a call to the surgeon could help you know how it
works in there office, just ask the receptionist. NO question
is silly for them and they know the waiting is hard for us
and that we get impatient.
KEEP us posted

Like Lisa said, so much varies from surgeon to surgeon that your best bet is really to go to him or her for those answers. In the meantime of course pre-op weightloss is always a plus for those that can do it and will help you on the operating table. Keep patient. This is deffinately worthwhile.

Welcome to the board, twinemzpeachez, thank you for joining us.
We hope you'll feel at home here.
As for how many classes, it depends on the bariatric center and surgeon, so what you get probably won't be what others got.
You'll find lots of positive thoughts here, though, please post about yourself in You Profile, and there's also plenty of stuff in Coffee Talk and Stupid Qs.

((((((HUGS))))) May your journey go well!
