Default Second thoughts?

Why oh why am I having second thoughts? It's driving me insane. I've been on my liquid diet for 6 days now. I have to admit, it's hard! Very hard, but I'm doing it. I am so tired and drained. I've been trying to busy myself and prepare, but I keep questioning whether or not I can truly do this and not because I can't eat what I want when I want, but because I feel like an emotional wreck. I'm scared, anxious, nervous, etc. I keep going through the "what ifs" and that definitely isn't fun. My husband has been wonderful support and keeps telling me I didn't make it this far for no reason.

I have been on here many times along with Obesity Help - Weight Loss Surgery, Obesity Support Groups, Obesity Forums, Surgical Procedures. I've read many positive stories and seen the amazing pictures, so what is my problem? My doctor has a super low complication rate and has had no deaths in the 14 years he has been doing this. Please tell me I just have cold feet! I know I'm ready for the change. I WANT this change. I WANT to be healthy. Sure the outside is important, but first I want and need the inside to be better.

:::SIGH::: Deep down I know this will be the best thing for me. I just need to "put my big girl panties on" and get over it! Thanks for letting me vent. I feel better knowing I laid it all out there.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

What you are going through is perfectly normal. You are going through and going to go through some super changes.... be easy on yourself, cut yourself some slack, focus on the positives, and you will be fine.

*hugs*

What you are doing is completely normal ~ it's important that you are taking this seriously and that you are aware of all the potential ups and downs. I actually took Xanax for 1-2 weeks pre-op which really helped me a lot. Hang in there - you'll be doing the WLS dance before you know it!

Wishing you an uncomplicated surgery and a speedy recovery!

Your pre op cold feet and roller coaster emotions are quite normal.
Just take it one day at a time, tomorrow is another day.
(((((((HUGS)))))))) You'll do fine.

Oh yeah, I'd worry about you if you weren't nervous!!!!! We all went through it and it's perfectly normal. This is a huge step and it's major surgery. You're life will never be the same - it'll be soooo mcuh better!!!!!
You're tired and drained as much from an emotional aspect as you are from switching to the liquid diet. It's amazing what stress can do to our bodies. Just don't forget that if you're doing this now, once you have your tiny little pouch, you will be posting that you are struggling to eat or drink anything! This, I have always said as I had a 6 week pre-op diet over christmas and new years, is THE hardest part. Once you are on the table and they give you the good stuff, you'll wake up to your new, and improved life!

Sharon, Hang in there girl. Believe it or not these fears are normal. Heck I had everything in order if something had happened. I cried while they wheeled me into surgery. Your doctor sounds like he has been doing this for a long time so you are in capable hands. STay right here for the next week and we'll help you to your date. You are doing this for you and no one else. I'm sure lots of people are giving you advise and trying to change your mind. Stay focused!

We're here to help you through the process. I too had reservations about surgery, but this was my very first surgery under general anesthetic, and I was worried. I had sleep apnea too, which also created worry in my head. Everything turned out fine, and in two years, I'm extremely close to losing 150 pounds. I started at 345 and am currently 198. Think of how much better you'll feel without carrying all that extra weight. I can now get up off the floor, walk around the block easily, get out of the bathtub, won't break any more toilet seats, etc. This place will help you through any questions you may have along the way too.
