Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass |  health question I have my surgery on Monday the 5th and was just wondering if anyone got sick this close to their date? I've had a cough and a little sore throat. Started taking anitbiotics, hopefully this works. Any other ideas. Thanks

| Super Moderator  | Yes, there were a couple of people who caught a cold just when their dates were around the corner. Just call your surgeon and ask what meds you can take, and what to do. I don't think you need to worry about a postponement unless you get really seriously ill. (((((((HUGS))))))) I hope you feel better soon.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | i got a horrendous cold the week before my surgery. i was convinced it would be postponed,,,i took tons of coldeeze and drank lots of Oj and fluids. anyways about 3 days before surgery day i did call the surgeon and they told me to come in as planned and that the nurse in surgical daycare that day would evaluate me...they told me they are looking for a spiked fever and breathing difficulties to consider actually cancelling it.. long story short i ended up being ok,,i just sounded a little nasaly that day is all. everything went ahead as planned!! good luck!!
