Question A week to go

Surgery is a week away now. I'm still on my all milk diet and i'm enjoying reading bout all your experiences but i have a few questions

I live in the UK and things seem abit different here as i say im on a diet that is 4 pints of 1% milk a day and a stock cube we call them oxo cubes sorry no idea what they are in USA and water ofcourse. this diet is followed for 2 weeks before surgery but they didnt tell me until friday so i started sunday 10 days before surgery the dietican said this was fine. The reason for this diet is to reduce the size of my liver making surgery easier.

anyway the question im not hungry but my head hurts so bad sometimes i can bearly see is this just the diet im on or something more? btw i suffer from migrans and milk triggers them as well

Next after the surgury i have noticed you saying that you are on a fluid only diet for 2 weeks, here we are told to eat from day 2 soft puried foods but normal foods I was just wondering why the difference?

My surgery is going to be keyhole surgery so the docs say i should be out on day 3 one of my biggest concerns is i live 3 hours drive from the hospital will the return journey be very painful for me?

Ok ive stopped being the nervous nelly now but i would apprieciate you comments about these things. this is a great forum and im so glad i found you

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

That is a very interesting diet. I haven't heard of that. I had to be on a liquid protein diet but I haven't had surgery yet. When I was on the liquid diet, I did get aweful headaches which was from only having liquid and since you are predisposed to having migraines triggered by milk I suspect that is the problem. The ladies who have had their surgery said the ride home was uncomfortable but to bring a pillow and hold it against your stomach. I hope that helped. Good luck with your surgery.

((((HUGS))))
You headache may be withdrawal from sugar (carbs) and/or caffeine (coffee or tea) as well as migrane. If it's withdrawal, it will probably at the worst around the 3rd day, and then get slowly better.
Hope you feel better soon.

I never got headaches from being on the protein drink diet before surgery. Now the ride home was ok for me too, not much pain at all on the ride home, I had a pillow and I had it agaisnt my stomach and my husband took extra care not to drive over the bumps to fast and he did a great job driving home carefully not to let the pickup hit bumps or holes in the road. We live 165 miles from where I had my surgery.

Have a pillow in the car ready for the drive home. Sit and hold it on your belly firm and the ride home won't be so bad. Everyone else has hit the rest of the questions, except for the stock, or oxo cubes...we call it bouillon cubes here. Chicken/veggie/beef flavors.
