I saw my surgeon for the first time last week. I am down 30 pounds now. He told me that I would be a good candidate for lap band since my weight is coming off pretty easily now. I haven't decided. I also may be moving to a new state in a month or so--I may postpone surgery until I get settled.

Research more about both the lab band and surgery so it's YOU making the decision. Maybe moving the date back a little while you settle in to your new place is a good idea - funny, things happen for a reason. Good luck in which ever one you pick. And major congrats on the 30 pounds!!

Congratulations on your weight loss!! Good job!! Yes, research all you can about the various types of surgeries, and decide on what you feel comfortable with. As for moving, just be careful that the stress that comes along with that will make you turn to food when you've done well setting up a good eating habit. ((((((HUGS)))) May your journey go well.

Ditto!!! I know "typically" I've read that you don't lose as fast or as much with the band, but I just ran into a girl at work that had the band done 2 1/2 yrs ago and she's lost 168 pounds, and she said she's still losing a few here and there. So it CAN work, but I think it boils down to "you" as an individual. How much control you can keep for the period of time you will be losing. I just knew "I" may not do well with no restriction. But congratulations on your loss so far!! That's awesome!!!!!
