DH & I were looking at before after pictures of wls in regards to extra skin. What is your self image like after the weight loss (I.e. Extra skin)? Did your spouse lose interest in you?

Gosh no!!!! He can't get enough! I'm still fairly young (32) and even though I've lost 100lbs, my skin isn't horrible. Not to the point where I'd even have surgery at this point, but I have a ways to go yet. But as for my spouse, he loves every inch of me and is so proud! Plus he loves the fact that I'm more confident and feel sexier which means more fun, if you know what I mean! (well, when we get to be together, which is why I was so upset about this past weekend  )

No way! My husband was there before and he is still on board. The self image thing is AMAZING! Of course I dont like the things I see in the mirror..."my left overs". But hey, the clothes hide it and my husband still sees me as the same person. His beautiful wife. There are so many more things that we can do together as a couple because of this surgery and we are both very thankful because of it.

My hubby loves me just as much now as he did before surgery. But I know in my heart that he is so proud of me losing all the weight I have so far. He wants me to come into all the stores where I use to stay on the pickup becasue it was just going in and getting parts for the farm machinery. Now wants me to come in with him and I said why and he said just becasue he would like me to be with him. He tells people that I lost alot of weight and tells them that I really look good already and when they see me he grins from ear to ear. Now as far as the lose skin, he tells me it is all up to me and whatever makes me happy. I really only have a problem is my hanging skin in my belly. I want it removed becasue it itches so bad under the folds and constanly have to put creams on to control the itching. I do have to say that out love making is much better now compared to before, much more flexable now compared to before. My life has changed so much since I lost all this weight and have more to go. My hubby keeps telling me that I look so good now and is happy that I had the surgery. I would do the gastric bypass in a heartbeat again becasue it has changed my life so much. Best thing I have ever done for myself.

Actually, my stomach isn't as bad as I thought it would be...I may get brave enough to put up a pic in my 2 piece...and you can see what losing 130 pounds looks like. I look GREAT in clothes, but it's a little scary without them LOL... DDH loved me large...and he says that even though the skin is NO big deal to him, we'll get it fixed if it bothers me (and he knows it does). He is NOT turned off by the extra skin at all....our sex life is BETTER than it ever has been....TMI??? It's really about your own frame of mind and deciding what you can or cannot live with. I wear 2's and 4's....medium, large or small blouses (depends on who makes them and how they are made)......it's a personal issue that you will have to decide on. |

My husband doesn't see all the extra skin. It bothers me. My surgeon has informed that he is putting in my referral for the removal in October. I will be glad to have it gone. All my extra skin makes me look a little preggo.  He loved me before and he loves me now. The change inside and outside is just amazing and it has given me a new outlook on life.

My hubby says something every day like 'you look really good,...that looks great on you,...' and the friskyness has gone up, not to mention he's always holding me and squeezing me more while he's saying these things (  ) now is it because I myself feel better, or look better to him? Both, I'm sure. He loved me good before, so it's just getting better. I think when you are with someone who really loves you, if you do have a little skin issue, it won't matter.
